I changed my settings as you had advised: as per the first line in the "video format" section of the specs sheet, 1920x1080p at 30fps (50Mb/s XAVC S). I just finished watching your "DSLR Basic Settings Tutorial". After learning a bit more about FPS I decided I'm good to shoot at 30fps, no need for 60. I'm still not sure why I decided to randomly shift from 1080p to 1080i, but I didn't understand the difference between the two and now I absolutely do! I think I have been shooting, for a very long time, in the AVCHD format 1080p (as per the second line of the "video format" section of the specs sheet) which is what I think I meant when I said "I tried 1080p". I shot a short video clip with the new settings, imported it into DaVinci, and pretty much every problem I've been having importing was solved (including one I didn't even mention). Again thank you so much!! I've been struggling with this for 2 weeks, and in a couple of minutes my issue was resolved.
