i just purchased the Kitchen Aid oven with air fry and it works as advertised. I wish the right side switches were back-lite but that's pretty minor. Easy to set functions and temp with one dial! I've been air frying my cut potatoes and veggies since purchase and chicken wings of course. Oven not big on bells and whistles but it gets the job done for hundreds less than some high end ovens. I was going to turn it back in for something more high end but the enjoyable food I was cooking put that idea on the back burner. Cleans up easily and I enjoy the big fry basket. Hopefully, simpler means a longer lasting product!
In the UK, we call them smart ovens. Mine is 30L, 1800 watt with 21 functions, comes with a rotisserie, an accessory to pull out the shelf, for easy access to food, and even comes with an excellent oven glove! It was under $200!
I need to buy a new one. Americas Test Kitchen recommends the Instant Vortex. Did you test that one? I currently have the Cuisinart which is very hard to clean.

I have the Cuisinart CTOA-130PC2 which is a replacement (by Cuisinart) for the Cuisinart I had bought at Costco. Both of these toaster ovens/Air fryers have resulted in selector dials that jump and its create difficulty in selecting the function you desire. Cuisinart will not replace as the original one was purchased more than 3 years ago. I a researching a new one to purchase.
I used an instant pot vortex daily for 4 years. Then it died. I ordered an Elite Gourmet XL.. With the French doors. Burnt the crap out of my arm trying to get my food out of the oven. I didn't like the heat it put out and the timer was inaccurate. As well as the temp..It went back the next day. Waiting on the Ninja smart XL to arrive.
I recently bought the Kalorik manual oven. It has plastic knobs above the french doors. The knobs are deforming from the heat. I would not have bought this junk if I had known that the setting knobs were going to melt.

I have the Gourmia French door digital air fryer oven it is great air fryer but the only downside is that it will leak grease from the bottom
