The Helen Keller comment was funny. I have heard David’s solos countless times. If I don’t want to hear a reaction, I would just be watching or listening without a reactor. The don’t pause during the solo comment I think are for your benefit, not the listener’s. If you’ve never heard it, how would you know when an appropriate place to talk and/or pause is? The good thing is that PF videos don’t seem to get the copyright blocks.
This was part of a movie filmed in the ruins of Pompeii, Italy. The amphitheater and the various statues were made by the Romans and were covered by a volcanic eruption. The area is volcanically active hence the bubbling mud flats and the steam in the movie. The area is still active.
Not even the tip of the iceberg...Greatest band of all time! Shine on You crazy Diamond was always my favourite...but after that, well you'll just have to discover yourself. The Pulse concert from beginning to end is mind numbing!!!!
This was filmed in 1971. 3 of the 4 guys performing in this 1971 video went on to perform in Pulse in 1994. In 2016, at age 70, David Gilmour returned to Pompeii to perform in front of a live audience.
Floyd is fun but they are not really for fun, it's for the spiritual journey, the brain needs time to float, and interruptions break the mood, because Floyd is about mood, so they are different from Everyone else. still enjoy your reactions.
Nice reaction... I'm sure David Gilmour is happy again! (These days he's busy releasing his new album, good old man.) You mentioned "Great Gig in the Sky", -so do yourself a favour: listen to the original studio-version first, from the album Dark Side Of The Moon. -Or for an even better experience: "Time" leads directly into "The Great Gig in the Sky"... THEN you'll understand why Pink Floyd rules!
The point of Elvis and The Beatles was to get peoples butts out of the seats, and on the dance floors. The point of Pink Floyd was to keep peoples toes tapping, and focused on the music. Not blaming you for anything. Rock music is a learning curve. Just sit back in your chair, and enjoy the ride!
Oh that was DEFINITELY sarcasm, and I think I put that in the video! 😂 but I HAVE been learning that PF is a different vibe and I really really like it! I’m seeing that every band has a different feeling/meaning to the people and it’s so fun to be able to start experiencing that!!!! ☺️
@ellasal Luckily not! It's all about their larger than life music and lyrics. It's closing your eyes and listening to their albums front to back... Timeless brilliance!
@@ellasal I have heard David Gilmour mention several times how he feels like a vessel and that inspiration falls out of his fingers, he sees them as surprises. I find Gilmours guitar brings me to tears and lifts me in a way that no other performer does and I personally find it to be the most spiritual thing in my life. In this song the spiritual part takes place in part 2 of this song/video.
What’s up, Glenn!! After taking note and just sitting/listening to Echoes, I now understand! I first had Pink Floyd in the category as a band you rock out too (I was brand new to PF obviously) but now I see what y’all mean! Definitely an experience for the spirit! :)
I saw your note of recognition to the similarity to Phantom of the Opera, well Pink Floyd considered but chose not to sue Andrew Lloyd Weber for stealing it for Phantom. Turns out they all grew up at around the same time in a nearby section of London so they just let him have it. 😃
Some people are just nutty about stopping any guitar solo. You're doing a reaction, that's why we watch. Most of us know the songs well, so pay no attention to the whining and stop or talk whenever you want.
You did a good job with this one! Congrats!!! IF you ARE going to do The Great Gig In The Sky, make sure you listen to the audio version first as, not only is it THE BEST, but I t will prepare you for some of the ad-lib and creative differences in the live versions. Without knowing the original track, the alternative versions might leave you a little lost as to the interpretation of the music and style. So perhaps react to the audio version here first. Get some subs from that...
Yesterday I stood on that very spot..... ❤❤❤
NO WAY!!!!! Dude that’s actually so awesome!!! Did you take lots of pics? That’s a scrapbook worthy memory 📸
Your channel, your reaction. People don't "have" to watch, those of us who "choose to watch" actually want to hear your thoughts.
I have decided to upgrade my hi-fi and the first thing I will play will be Echoes, it will take me back to the early 70s, a great time for music.

@@keyrat1753 OHHH Thank you for that!! The video I chose to watch said 1972
@@ellasal It was filmed in 1971, but released in 1972.
@@keyrat1753I love RUclips, all the knowledgeable people come out 🤝
Nick Masons drumming makes this for me too

I actually did listen to the album about 2 weeks ago and WOW….. just WOW!!!!
That bass in the second half is nasty.

Youll come to understand about David Gilmore guitar solos. Its spiritual cultural and very important to peoples souls.
Is it kind of like George Harrison including Hinduism in his music?? Or a different type of spiritual culture? Genuinely asking :)
@ellasal Luckily not! It's all about their larger than life music and lyrics. It's closing your eyes and listening to their albums front to back...

Spelling Mr. Gilmour's name correctly is also very important. HOW DARE YOU?!

Watch part 2
Great reaction buddy, would you be down for a collaboration?
Why was Helen Kellers leg yellow? Her dog was blind too.
HAHAHA!!!!! I’m definitely saving that joke in my back pocket!!
No offence. But it is actually against international law to pause or talk during a Gilmour solo 😂
Don’t worry 😂 I’m officially a law-abiding citizen now! I won’t break the law again
