Semper Paratas go Coast Guard. Always faithful. Great to hear the Coast Guard anthem again. I was four years at sea in the Coast Guard and played in the Cape May boot camp band. It's exhilarating to march through a small town on the 4th of July, for instance. People were waving at you and smiling as we went past. It was a good 4 years. Made a man out of me.
To sustain that level of tone in that weather is truly impressive...anyone who plays a wine instrument can attest for how much the cold ruins your overall tone
The Coast Guard was established in 1790 as the Revenue Cutter Service, at the behest of Alexander Hamilton. Exactly one month after the birth date of our nation, I hope that you recognize our consistent commitment to honor, respect, and devotion to duty!
is it just me or where they the only Military branch that actually marched in step during that Parade and looked uniformed? I remember watching that live and saying "S*** look at them go!"
I am debating on either joining the Coast Guard or Army. I know they are quite different but I have different interests as well. I just can't make up my mind. I've got a recruiter on the hook in both. Anyone have insight?
We switched to alto horns briefly, and are in the process of phasing them out. There is only one stalwart alto horn player right now, and she happened to get on camera!
Its NOT Port Security 301.. It is Port Security 309. They are out of Port Clinton Ohio. My husband is a part of that unit. They were the ones invited to march. Please correct your description. If, and I do mean if, 301 was there, you should at least put that 309 was there as well, but 301 was not the deployed unit that just returned. 309 was.
revenue cutter service was formed in 1790, the coast guard traces its lineage back to then yes, but the coast guard as its current entity wasn't formed until 1915.

@farmboy6503 "Semper Paratus", the Coast Guard march
Good band! When did they start using alto horns on the march?
The announcer said this was PSU 309 from Ohio. PSU 301 is from Mass. Which one was it?
I think that announcer erred at the beginning. The Coast Guard was actually formed in 1915, not 1925.

It was PSU 309. Not 301. My husband's unit is 309. They went.

@Nobody join Coast guard there an Underrated Branch that need new recruits.
Don't listen to this person. All branches always need new recruits. Coast Guard is a honorable branch to join along with the rest of them.
