The fact remains that GJ is friends with the President of CAPA and they are the ones who framed ZZH. Furthermore, it is GJ's fans who have been harassing loyal Haizhes. Since he has not told the truth he is guilty for allowing all of this, whether he was a willing participant or not. I do understand how much pressure people can be under and how easy it is to feel one has no choice. If he can tell the truth then he can be forgiven. It's not the fans that started the Cold War. I genuinely hope Gong Jun can find the courage to burn bridges with his toxic industry friends, for his own sake as well as for the sake of the fandoms. He is not a hopelessly bad actor: he can deliver a line, get into character, emote, do stunts, and is more versatile than most Chinese actors. The trouble is that he struggles to stay in character, and is unmotivated. He did so well in Word of Honor because he was able to get help with those things, and because that character suited him better than the conventional male leads he's been playing since. He has a tendency towards melodramatic acting, which just suits a villainous character better. It's so clear he would genuinely be happier and more successful if he joined ZZH in telling the industry to stuff it. But at this point that would take an immense amount of courage, because of the extent to which he hurt ZZH. There were many things they could have chosen which would have hurt his public image without hurting him personally. But this accusation did hurt personally, indeed it's the most hurtful accusation they could have chosen. Every great poet has their muse, and Zhang Zhehan's is China. He's more than patriotic, he's desperately in love. Being accused of disloyalty, even though the accusation is easily debunked, hurt him the way that it would hurt a man of if his wife accused him of cheating. Nevertheless, he is certainly ready to forgive GJ although he will likely never forgive the industry and will do everything in his power to destroy it. He never took back the promise he made and never stopped wearing the promise ring. Indeed, he has the means now to make good on that promise in ways he could not have at the time he made it: when Ranyi Studios was still in it's infancy, EZzH was still just a dream, and he was unknown to the international entertainment community. Zhang Zhehan keeps his promises, even when it's hard. But, he can't help someone who refuses his help.
