Roger and James really complement each other well. Roger will talk about something from an artistic and prefencial pov and James speaks from a practical, sort of realistic approach. It's very helpful because they teach us both sides of filmmaking. Loved the Master class!!
There's an interview with Werner Herzog on youtube somewhere, and he abhors like Roger the idea of shooting coverage, and he goes into detail about the reasons, really good stuff, dovetails perfectly with what Roger is saying.
