Just only if the orphanage lady took chip back to the hospital after he was left at the orphanage, chip would never have been lost.
Also like how the doctor kinda already knew it was brad, only if the parents just took a chance to believe the doctor and asked brad if it were him, he May admit it and tell his parents where he left chip.
Only if the parents saw the kidnapper at the time, they would’ve knew it was brad and if they still didn’t see where brad left him they still would tell brad to lead them to the place he left chip.
There are many ways that chip could’ve been found right after he was kidnapped and would never have lived homeless ever.
