Welcome to another running session here at Colwich Junction.
A recent visit to Chester Cathedral to see Pete Waterman & the Railnuts latest creation has Inspired a few running sessions over the last week or so. I hope you enjoy watching.
Since the last video the has been a few new additions to the layout & some weathering done to Bachmann class 37402.
A real stalwart of the layout since it’s inception, I’ve decided to remove the final drive worm gears & effectively turn the loco into a dummy.
Having successfully completed the same modifications to one of my class 20s I thought it would be a good idea to do the same to one of my 37s, seeing as they usually run together at either end of a train or double head these days.
Accurascale recently made a few more Large logo 37s available on their website, so I managed to pick one up DCC ready.
37409 Lord Hinton joins the fleet the second of 4 37s from the company due to join the ranks here at Colwich.
The timing of this was perfect as a pre-ordered Accurathrash decoder also dropped in the last week & coupled with a matching speaker we have lift off!
What a great sound.
A recent running session see’s my beautiful Accurascale (other manufacturers take note, there’s a theme going on here!) class 92 break cover & head out on to the main line albeit pulling a rake of Oxford MkIIIs.
Rule one definitely applies here, so it’s not one for the purists out there😂

Yeah I think it’ll be worth the wait. I’ve had the decoder preordered since May & was going to fit it into 37419, just so happens that it turned up this week when I got hold of 37409.
Brilliant sound & great to drive, it makes my old TTS in 37688 sound awful🤣

Your layout is STUNNING and your camera angles are brilliant! There's so much to love in what you do and ALL of your colleagues and countrymen are doing as I've been astoundingly impressed with OO-scale since discovering it in 2015 and then purchasing some trains.
I'm a passenger rail fan, but I have numbers of American diesel locomotives and freight rolling stock in addition to my many American passenger rail coaches. My intent is to buy all of the OO-scale passenger rail coaches that I desire then move onto British diesel locomotives and freight rolling stock.
My dream is to build a 'British' layout of the various regions and the passenger trains commonly seen in those regions. My friend and train tech is from Liverpool, and I hope to be able to get his input.
My two sizable layouts will be American (of the NEC-North East Corridor) and British of varying regions. I'm most impressed with the superb UK 🇬🇧 modellers like yourself and in what you gentlemen accomplish.
I currently have the Class 221 Super Voyager, Class 390 Pendolino, Class 350 and the London Underground S-Stock with so much more to buy! BTW, what Pete Waterman is doing and has done is magnificent!

An impressive line up, I wouldn’t mind a 221 Super Voyager as they are regular performers on the mainline where I live👍
I have an interest in American railroads too. I’m lucky with my job as I travel mainly to the U.S. so if I have time I will try & take in some of your amazing locos & massive freight trains.
I’ve just been to Denver CO and managed to take a look at some of the locos at the BNSF sheds, brilliant stuff.
