Driving to Asbury Park, NJ from Manhattan

Saturday, June 18th, 2023 - Drove from the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC to Asbury Park, New Jersey. Started out in midtown and headed up to the UWS before coming back down to midtown and crossing over to New Jersey from the Lincoln tunnel. Connected with I-95 south towards Perth Amboy and switched over to the Garden State Parkway south towards the shore. Took the Route 66 exit off the Garden State Parkway and merged onto Asbury Ave towards the Asbury Park shore. Good weather, uneventful drive, sporadic traffic on I-95

Good God the beachfront has grown by leapa and bounds since I lived there in the 80s. None of those big buildings were there. Nice to see the lil apt building i lived in is stii there. About 4 blocks from the beach. I used to put my baby in the stroller, walk to the beach and watch the sunrise on the boardwalk. Fond memories of Asbury Park. Ty for posting.

I was actually in Asbury Park this past March for my 21th birthday. It was on a Friday and went to the Pinball arcade on the boardwalk. Fun day but weather was cool
