I would not mind a mirror matchup once a week, but i will watch every episode no matter the matchup anyway. Basicly it become a daily ritual to watch this cast.
I think that you could do something like “Mirror Match Mondays”, just once a week would be enough to sprinkle it throughout your schedule. But it would be nice if someone else curate and feed them to you so we know beforehand that we’ll at least get to watch better quality matches.
I dont know about you but that catch tyson made at 12 mins on the second shuttle is really suspicious. he had no vision but the second the shuttle moved out of the base on the mini map tyson moved 2 groups of goons north and left his reavers behind to keep his base safe from the goons comming down the middle
anyone else suspicious about the goon movement at 12 mins? like tyson has no vision but he knows to move 2 groups of goons north the SECOND motive leaves his base and he moves them to catch the shuttle that was split off of the army for a flank. I dont know about you but I really want to know why he only took his goons up there if he was "moving out". He left both his reavers and his shuttle in the natural and only took the goons to make that snipe and it doesnt look like it was a guess.
I don't even play the game anymore, but I like a mirror match now and again. ZvZ is especially interesting, imo. It feels like the fundamentals are amplified. Motive didn't have vision and Tyson had map position that neutralized two threats before they could do damage.
After 25-ish years, it's the first time I notice that scarabs appear on the mini-map. Also, I don't mind Protoss mirror matchups. Even if you're not a Protoss fan, it's just so satisfying to see that blue goo everywhere.
After 25 years I just noticed that when a reaver dies it doesn't refun dthe money for scarabs building!! I assumed it gave the money back like gateways with units making. I played the game at a high level for a long time and never knew that.
I love all three mirror matchups, but I just love watching Brood War. Spoiler: I think Motive got tunnel vision. He could have taken the last shuttle to the bottom, go across, and get into the main and at least gotten SOME damage, but instead it did zero.
The exciting part of non-mirror matches is seeing how well the game is balanced around the three completely different races. That, and lore are the most important reasons why mirror matches are less popular. It's way more fun imagining the Swarm annihilating their Protoss arch-enemies, or stimmed Marines wiping out hordes of Zerg ground units.
I enjoy the mirror matches as well. Perhaps not on a high frequency but they are nice from time to time. As an aside, the rich games that you've been putting up are really interesting! He's a solid player and he's contending with some tough opponents, win or lose. Really hoping for a zelot mirror matchup zvz! Or a scan/bishop vs whoever for tvt.. However I won't complain if it's not. Thank you for shaking things up a little bit. ♡ your casts bring me great joy, and chills.
Hi Artosis! I used to play starcraft like crazy, many years ago back when i gamed on PC. Now, maybe like lots of other people, we are from a spectator perspective. when it comes to mirror matches, those are the MOST fun to watch for me, cause its an even playing field. No excuses, either you win or you get outplayed and enjoy that ego depletion!
I don't mind any match ups. But you know what was real fun, The Bum Fight from like a year ago. Love seeing absolute amateurs going at it makes me appreciate the Pros that much more
Hi Artosis!! From a purely spectator POV: PvP>TvT>ZvZ. I feel PvP is more volatile and fun to watch, TvT is very strategy oriented and methodical, and ZvZ tends to just come down to micro and mind games, in my very humble opinion. Love the casts as always!!
I like mirrors. You never see them, so that's a plus in general, but the real reason I like them is those little mistakes seem so much more. Watching their build queue in the corner, there were times it was identical. I think seeing what makes the difference is really exciting.
@@godlyobject6509 I remember someone describing ZvZ as the most feral matchup in the game. It's the one matchup where Zerg feels the most Zerg. It's also no surprise that one mistake and you lose.
I like mirror matches! I think they are just as interesting as any other match up to watch. Especially with the way modern TvT works with vulture wars and wraith switches etc.
Funniest cast in a while. For mirrors, I love long strategic TvTs. ZvZ is such a "will it be good or will it fizzle?" PvP bores me but you at least get decent ones when you need to watch them.
Mirror matches are cool. They kinda break the "monotony", though all the matchups have, admittedly, a crazy amount of variance. Be that it as it may, I still enjoy mirrors almost as much as the non-mirror matchups, because they're an invariable part of the experience, regardless if you play the game, or just watch it.
Awesome game. Tyson is looking really impressive lately. I’m curious as to how much luck and or skill was involved in the shuffle picks. As much as it could have been bad luck like “shuttle in the wrong place at the wrong time”, it could have also had an element of Tyson knowing where the goons needed to be to pick a sneaky shuttle off. Hope that makes sense!
A few mirror matches here and there are nice, especially if the players are well known or a hype pairing. Maybe 1 every week or two is nice. I especially enjoy TvT actually, especially with Artosis knowing so much about it.
Usually mirror matchups feel boring to me because mutalisk / zergling / dragoon / vulture engagements feel like a toss-up on who gets the first volley. But TvT is great because defending siege tanks generally take the first shot, so it becomes a much more positional matchup even though both sides use the same units.
Honestly that's like E rank level control. The shuttle with 2 reavers is by far the most important thing in the game at that point, you gotta watch it.
@@alexfriedman2152 you too watch the minimap, man. Tyson's reaver scarab dudded on Motive's probes due to Motive's micro at that exact time he lost his own shuttle

I'd been away from watching SC for a long time and I was about to ask about mirror matches as well. Too bad such videos don't do as well bc I enjoy them.
I’m a fan of mirror matches, except for Zerg. Terran is my favorite mirror match and PvP is my second one. Having said that, I do enjoy ZvZ when it’s a series of matches between 2 high level players. Like Calm and Queen or Hero, Jaedong etc. Problem is the luck factor but in a best of 3 or more it’s a good indicator that it’s more than a simple lucky shot. TvT has been my favorite ever since that OSL semifinals (or finals can’t remember) between Flash and Baby (forgot his new name lol). Hate that many casters don’t do a lot of them because of how long they can last.
i enjoy watching the mirror matchups, if we only watch the non mirror ones we only get to see half of the possible matchups, im fine with the mirrors being more rare however but it would be cool if we could get one game of each mirror every month
So ultimately in the ideal universe of guys from the chat and guys from the comments it has to be Flash vs Flash mirror matchups! And Flash would have won! Every time! Without gg! And wifetosis would cast this!

Yeah im a zerg, and ZvZ is great to watch. The micro and the small differences really shine there. When you look at TvT, it's very strategic, but apart from vulture wars, one worker or one unit mean much less than ZvZ. ZvZ is the matchup where every single thing matters the most. If you enjoy the small details of the game, I don't think any other matchup gives you such a spotlight into them. Worker micro, battle micro, macro decision making. One mistake means losing. I think that makes it worth watching.
TvT is the most strategic matchup in Brood War, how can you not love it? ZvZs are usually nice and fast and if not, they are absolutely epic games. PvP also has a lot of strategy involved.
