Thank you for this.. how's it treating you now? Also.. do you think the neck can handle a set of round wounds?
It is doing just fine. I can't remember if I had done surgery on the Robelli when I filmed this. A uke bass specialist suggested that I cut apart the saddle so that each part of the saddle rested evenly on the Piezo pickup, which I did. I also swapped the strings for black thundergut. I'd be willing to try the new Kala wound strings, which work on their U-Basses, so I don't think it would cause any problems with this one. But I have to be honest...I'm sort of planning to buy Ohana's wound bass in the future...it seems better to be able to hear what you're playing when you are practicing, even if you still need an amp!
What type of batteries does the pickup take?
I had to look. There are two CR2032 batteries powering it!
How did you get the 20 off coupon?
If you signed up for their e-mail list they offered a $20 off a purchase of $100 or more. The uke was less than $100 at the time, so I threw in a bottle of Dunlop 65 fretboard oil.

It's probably worth an e-mail to their store and ask about it. I get e-mails frequently since signing up (and have bought nothing else from them) where they offer percent-off sales from time to time. Maybe they stopped that promotion from their e-mail list. Also...if you have a junk e-mail filter or folder, it might be worth looking in there, because Sam Ash definitely starts sending out regular "junk" mail!
@@UkeStuff they are not offering more then 10% off over $200...but theres a Tax they include I dont know is because my package will be send to FL..at the end 10% off is like the same amount of money you will pay for the tax =)
