    I'm not sure who decides the editing is appropriate on some of these highlight videos but they're extremely inconsistent. Some weeks they're amazing, and other weeks (like this week) I'm left scratching my head wondering why we cut away from a good battle for the lead to show a restart and not even show why there was a caution in the first place. That happened like three or four times just in this video.

      I have to agree, for the past 10 years, going all the way back to the Kesolowski vs Ambrose and even beyond that, The Glen has consistently put up great and amazing racing, with a perfect touch and inch of drama to leave people talking about multiple stories, and this is coming from a guy who is typically not a huge fan of Road Courses!

    I don't know how the drivers feel, but for TV watchers, Watkins Glen is one of the best race tracks in the world. Seeing these heavy and relatively under powered cars dart around like Indycars is highly entertaining! Too bad we don't have Montoya out there w/ that crazy Villeneuve and these guys. I guess the wrecks and fights would go way up though.

      @@ToIsleOfView By racing etiquette, it's Byron's fault, not Gibbs'. Gibbs was fully alongside Byron. Byron is supposed to leave him a car width of space to the inside in that circumstance. Bryon instead pinched Gibbs and ran him completely over the inside curb and Gibbs lost it and took them both out. It's really no different a situation than someone getting hooked after squeezing someone into the wall on corner exit at an oval.

    • @jamesvasser2941
      @jamesvasser2941 Год назад +4

      Gibbs did not give, Byron had the racing line and Gibbs stayed on his door, which pushed him far enough left that his left rear tire caught the rumble strip, upset the car and took them both out.
      Now, to me it gets in the grey when you have an xfininity driver who’s in the points race banging doors with a cup driver that will race in a completely different style car the following day. But that’s a discussion for another time

    NASCAR needs track limits on turn 1. That’s total crap that it gets used every lap to a huge advantage

    • @hehe-IgoBRRRR
      @hehe-IgoBRRRR Год назад

      It's called using the whole racetrack when necessary. The runoff is a huge advantage yes, but it's only used when someone is battling for a pass or if they overshot the corner. Most drivers tend to stay under the curb during green flag runs, but when it's on a restart when drivers have a good chance to gain track position, they'll be using every inch they got while trying not to wreck in the process. They know what they're doing.
      NASCAR is aggressive. It's what makes the sport different from other motorsports.

    I wish they would call the race more like V8 supercars in AUS. I wish it was more technical driving comments like apex, braking zones, down force, car setups...etc. They are literally screaming their heads off to tell us what we can obviously see on screen. This isn't radio...we don't need filler.

      NASCAR hasn't had any track limits at pretty much any road course since they've been doing them. That's what makes the racing exciting and fun, especially here. Finishes can get wild and the Glen sells out. This isn't IMSA, drivers know the deal. The curbs aren't your friend in a sports car, but a cup car they can take a licking over those things. I haven't seen this many international drivers in NASCAR in a long time this weekend. This track is a big draw for that.
