    That shelf has some great customization potential. Different shelf widths, different notch placements, different shelf order, different materials. Have a set for the people that like things squared and centered, and then the version where they are placed off-center, nice. The keyhole bit is perfect for this as well. Bad ass project. Thank you.

    5:25 I have an army depot locally, and the planks they use on trailers for the tanks, trucks and other heavy vehicles are made of Purple Heart. I’ve got a couple that are 7/4 thick and about 4’ long, both for free.

    I have a bunch of screen shots saved of projects that I think are bad ass. This shelf with all the possible variations is one I will build soon.

    Ill definitely be making some of these. But whats even more badass than the project is some of the marking techniques used here. Especially with the calipers. Ive watched a ton of woodworking vids these last 3 years or so but i aint never seen these before. Rock star tips brother.. Skäl 🍻

    You know, if you staggered the shelves like steps and mounted it low on the wall it would make an awesome cat climbing toy. Hmmmmm!

      I mentioned the offset notches in the video , but decided just to go center , the cat thing is pretty funny I could totally see my cats doing that ‘ skäl 🫡 thanks for the input my friend have the best weekend ever

    I made a marking knife out of a steak knife I hit with the mower. hehe. It broke the blade about an inch from the handle. After I pulled it out of the side of the house, I took it to the shop and started filing it to a dagger like point. Been using it for several years now.

    Thanks for mentioning that Mahogany is used for pallets. I was not aware of that. Not sure how common but I will definitely be looking and asking people. I have to double check my friends storage. I thought maybe he had some red oak but I better make sure. Lol. Thanks for the Knowledge Brother!

    Phillipean mahogany is a nice wood especially if you find the ribbon stripped.

    There is nothing better than to enjoy my coffee watching you make some sawdust! That shelf is 'off the chain' my friend! One of your commenters suggested some off center shelf notches and that is a great idea or a great way to add our spin to it! Thanks Daniel for making my day!

      @@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks you mentioned mounting the shelf on a stud but whenever I use a stud finder it starts going off a little bit as soon as I pick it up. I bet when you pick one up it goes off non stop

    Daniel m8 they look Sick a think they are super cool. A have a nice beech 3x3 and some square stock mahogany thatll work well for this and plenty shelf options. Just need find the slot bit. Looks amazing though. Stay badass and keep em coming will catch up soon. Potentially doing a flip on the planters now possibly being done out of sleepers but need check if theyll up the price if not going 2x8s 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

    Love your stuff unless I don’t. Love this project. For newer people that don’t have older tools, squares, or machinist squares, often times time combo squares have an all screwed into the head of it. Then you can keep your calipers better measuring tools. Not that I haven’t used my caliper as a marking device too. Sorry Viking. That was the only thing I would had added. And your square used to have it, I seen the hole. Glad you used the awl so much you lost it. Keep it up my man

    at 2:45 the wood coming off the chopsaw is marked as MB so has been treated with Methyl Bromide, maybe not a great idea to be using it for indoor use.

    Extremely similar idea that iwill make for me, basically same thing but I will leave a back channel. Well. I guess we ain’t that far off really. That will allow whatever under table or maybe just to the floor, to a tv. Hard to describe it exactly but I think everyone can kinda see it. You idea is way more everyone whereas I am more one off I think

      Marble , granite , anything over a ton I believe

    This build looks great and something I can attempt!
    question: it always seems to me that when I dry fit these builds, they fit good. But then put on my finish, it can be difficult to put together. Any suggestions?

      24 tooth thin kerf flat tooth rip blade , the link is in the description

    I reclaim 90% of my wood from pallets, old fencing, construction sites, free on FB Marketplace & make my own stain. So it would literally cost me under $10 to make it if im shipping it. I can see selling them for $30 to $40 depending on where on if its online or local craft venues. Not a bad profit margin there.

    I'm just poking some fun, Daniel, but you do know that the big part of the keyhole goes to the bottom, right? I did notice you kept your word about wearing your PPE more. You made it the whole way through the first cut with it on! Like I said, just teasing bud. Keep the great content coming.

      I was just saying that because when you were displaying it after your cost wrap up, you had it upside-down. Don't want to confuse anyone. You do great work, I only hope that I can have even a little bit of the success you're having with my channel. Posted my first video. It's crap but ya have to start somewhere.
