I feel ya dude. But it's not entirely their fault as the cartels do in fact spend a lot of efforts and money into framing themselves as the robin hoods of their country and encouraging legends and mythos about certain drug kingpins. And usually the biggest, and strongest out-spoken voices against the narcotraficantes are the ones that get cut down. Same as how Italian Americans had to deal with the stigma from the american mafia for decades, we as mexicans, or mexican americans are dealing with the same in this current timeline and just hope that it's slowly making a turn for the best for the Mexican community.

@FlapJacks & Syrup for sure. It gives people a lot more security to spoil their kids if they think their kids can just join the family business without any concern of wealth ever being taken away. But, for a lot of people who earned a ton of money the legal way had to do so at the expense of being with their families. They feel guilt about being absent when it was a matter of choice or because they used work as an escape. Many cartel members and Italian mafia organizations have a culture of celebrating and spending time with their families even though their work is at the expense of others. A hedgefund manager is being no less ruinous to others people's lives to earn his wealth but the road to success in that career is all about working 18 hours a day in the city, leaving your family to raise themselves. It sounds like the rise and fall cycle of cartel criminal organizations is just more rapid than that of a "legal" criminal and so they understand quicker the best thing they can give their kid is the confidence to know they can always go out and make more money instead of relying on someone more powerful to give it to you. The only way you can try and prevent your wealth being taken from you whether your business is legal or not is to band together with others who are in the same business and make connections amongst other people with control.

Stories like this are all too common in several small towns in all border states. Small run down houses for miles and then bam! Huge compounds with trucks, cars, horses, game roosters, a few watch dogs and completely gated. It’s common knowledge to almost everyone in town who’s doing what lol
Growing up in a border city this is so true.. not like it was in the 80s and 90s but that's how south tucson used to be.. slums and then bam a 2 story golden house with statues lmao nowadays they gotta be more low key and move to upper class areas and mix in but back then they'd just build a mansion right there in the hood with a bunch of trucks and suvs and dirt bikes in the drive way maybe a boat.
I’m in West Texas and yes there’s a Mexican family w a girl I went to hs with and the parents didn’t have jobs but all drove Range Rovers and the women had Louis Vuitton and Gucci backpacks at school, every other Mexican family was minimum wage in a trailer
His story is actually very close to mine. Instead of a quinceanera my dad got arrested LOL. About a year after I got a letter in the mail from the DEA informing me that the phones have been tapped and that they had been listening. Everyone in the family got that letter. They don't have to disclose until after either the trial or a certain amount of time. If he would have kept dealing, chances are they would have caught him. It's a good thing you stopped after 3 weeks.
If youre from Texas. Nothing about what he's saying is surprising. Not a fan of Ralph like that, but glad he's succeeding. It's funny the reactions these guys give when they hear the word cartel. It's no secret how much money flows from the border.
Lol! No shit, I'm from the RGV, everybody sold or trafficked drugs. Of course I'm 41 so this was the 80's/90's, but lots of people were living nice off drugs.
I think the realization that Ralph had about his family is one many Americans had about their country growing up. You'll always love your family and appreciate what they've done for you. But you can still look around and see some of the crimes they are committing and how veterans are treated vs those in control and decide that standing up and laughing about the hypocrisy of it all is the best course.
My mom is Peruvian, like amazon jungle, and I'm from the rgv, seeing Ralph make it, gives me so much pride, hearing him talk is like hearing people from my neighborhood talk, it just makes me feel so good, I wish him all the success
As a younger brother to three older brothers who were kingpins in the south Bronx in the 80’s . and paved the way for me . I know exactly what he’s saying and how he felt .
I think this is why this kid is going to be successful, because he’s good either way, he could take it or leave it. And that’s when good things find their way to you.
Love Ralph! Interview would be so much better if they would just let him answer, instead of assuming his answers, what happened and how he felt about his experience...
The level this kid operates on is nowhere near what these guys can comprehend. I feel these stories and it's funny not watch these guys stumble to react. You're good shit Ralph. Fun watching you keep them humble.
I can relate to his lifestyle. It's out of respect that you don't ask around questions till certain situations. It's not easy having a family with that background and you try to not get involved l.
@AT late stage governments act very similarly to cartels, should all of their citizens be responsible for the crimes they had no control over or even knew about?

I remember being a kid and my parents having a new rental every week. And my friends mom told him they can’t come over, they’re parents are drug runners. And I thought they were just being racist. Then I found out that they were just being attentive.
Crazy.

Eagle Pass Texas is like this in certain areas. We call it illegal pass for a reason

Ralph is down to earth and came from the real world. He knows what’s up very humble soft-spoken in genuine!
I fuck with bro fr. He said some real shit.
“I’ve been so rich, and I’m been so poor..either way I’m chillin”
I respect tf out of that.
Now we know why George Lopez called this man and apologized on some real shit

If youre from Texas. Nothing about what he's saying is surprising. Not a fan of Ralph like that, but glad he's succeeding. It's funny the reactions these guys give when they hear the word cartel. It's no secret how much money flows from the border.
I live in Laredo and its the norm around here lol
Yeah it’s funny, for us Mexicans/Americans it’s not a big deal we all probably have atleast a relative working with or for them 😂
Lol! No shit, I'm from the RGV, everybody sold or trafficked drugs. Of course I'm 41 so this was the 80's/90's, but lots of people were living nice off drugs.
😤
I just moved to Killeen Texas and my homies around here tell about Mexican kids that would pull up in crazy trucks and cars and I didn’t believe him
I think the realization that Ralph had about his family is one many Americans had about their country growing up.

The interviewer is hilarious, he's always guessing what Ralph's perspective is, but seems he keeps trying to put him in a box and Ralph is like no.
I think this is why this kid is going to be successful, because he’s good either way, he could take it or leave it. And that’s when good things find their way to you.

HISPANIC LITERALLY MEANS SPAIN. 🙄THE CULTURA LATINA THE LATIN CULTURE, THE LATIN PEOPLE, THE LATINO TRIBES (Latini), THE LATIN ETHNICITY AND THE LATIN LANGUAGE ALL COME FROM ITALY! LATINO IS THE SOLE IDENTITY OF SOUTHERN EUROPEAN LATIN MEDITERRANEAN DIASPORA WHOS ETHNICITY AND CULTURE COMES FROM THE TRUE AND REAL LATINO ANCESTORS OF ITALY. And Hispanic is literally the Latin language for Spain not the native Americans they colonized such as those Of south, Central American and Mexican origins weather you or others like you acknowledged it or not. Both Hispanic & Latin/Latino culture come from Europe that is Latin Europe. & Latin Europe was Latinized by Italy hence how Latina Italy got the historical Latin name LATINA! LATINO= SOUTHERN EUROPEAN LATIN MEDITERRANEAN DIASPORA OF THE LATINO ANCESTORS OF ITALY. Hispanic is the name the TRUE Latino people of Rome/Italy gave the Spaniards. People from south central America and Mexico are historically native Americans & now some Mestizos whom where just forced to learn Hispanic ways just like people in North America who where forced to learn English ways and it ends there. Being culturally UNROOTED due to brainwashed acculturation is why so many North Americans don’t know their own identity Nor even care.TRUE Latin people need representation in North America as we are misrepresented all day long in this country and it’s not ok. Culturally rooted proud People native to south Central America and Mexico who embrace their true identity feel the same way with FALSE brands like Hispanic and Latino as that is Not their origin it is the origin of their colonizers. South Central Americans and Mexicans are indigenous Americans, mestizo Americans, Castizo Americans, zambos, sub Saharans etc. Not Latins, Not Latin Blood therefore Not LATIN_O. LATINOS are SOUTHERN EUROPEAN LATINS born anywhere in the world who’s roots come from the LATIN Roman Empire of the Mediterranean Race. Again HENCE HOW LATINA ITALY GOT THE HISTORICAL LATIN NAME LATINA! If those like you want to claim the Hispanic identity and origins of Spain then what where. HOWEVER us culturally aware true Latin Mediterranean people are tired of this brainwashed American obsession with misappropriation and cultural rape of foreign Latin terms from Italy. Supporting American Brainwashed cultural theft for “gain” and “benefit” does Not magically change this. CULTURALLY REMOVED North Americans need to learn and respect their true culture that way they can stop stealing from mine. & TRUE LATINO MEN & WOMEN AKA SOUTHERN EUROPEANS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MULTI GENETICALLY MIXED ETHNIC PEOPLE DUE TO OUR MIDDLE EASTERN, NORTH AFRICAN& BALKAN GYPSIE DNA. THIS CULTURAL RAPE TOWARDS THE TRUE LATIN PEOPLE OF ITALY EXIST BECAUSE THOSE LIKE YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE & WILL CONTINUE TO “BENEFIT” FROM THE CULTURAL THEFT TOWARDS US TRUE LATINO MEDITERRANEANS WHO DESCEND FROM ITALY!
