My budgies are fighting too much even though my male has too much injury on his face and the female has an injury on her leg 25 days ago they laid their first egg and after the fourth day second egg but after that egg they emerged in that fight. Now from 20 days they are in separate cages even if I try to close each other the female try to attack my male.please give me some suggestions
I have 6 budgies at present (5 males, 1 female....2 females died from egg binding). Two particular males would fight each other-- the senior male always injuring the eyes of the younger male. I'd separate them for 3 days & they wouldn't fight again for a few months.... this went on for 2 years, but finally learned that when I allow them to fly free, they no longer fight. They still have small spats, but not the bloodied fights of the past. The female now spends her time hanging with the younger male who was always getting beat up. It seems the senior bird finally accepts this, plus flying around has caused their bloody fights to surcease. Am wondering if you release them to fly free more often, as I did, it may lessen their inclination to fight? Hope so.
