    Thank you for your thorough review! I wish I could try the older Chanel Cuir de Russie edt from the 80s. I have and love the current parfum. The current edp is too floral and synthetic.
    I intentionally have not tried Roja Dove perfumes because I don't want to fall in love with a $1k perfume 😅

    Great video! I had a hard time finding a reviewer of Great Britain that had actually bought the perfume themselves. Appreciate the in-depth description of how and why birch tar is used in leather perfumes. I am not that fond of leather, but I am slowly opening up to it. Trying more leather frags. Just reviewed ten leather fragrances. Someone challenged me. Lent me some bottles.

      tar, leather, elegance. In that order. Definitely a must.
      The edp is mostly powder and flowers, with maybe a hint of tar… not really my cup of tea.
      The Parfum/extrait is where it’s at.

So much so that I plan my day around being able to sit down and watch videos for that particular fragrance to prepare me for what I've heard about forever and am about to experience for the very first time. I get a nice cup of coffee and I prefer to watch your videos due to the elaborate history and other interesting tidbits you add that I find truly fascinating and makes the experience so much better. What Roja Dove fragrances are truly original and not just higher quality copies/inspirations? Asking for a friend. He has stated on many occasions that he wants to be remembered for Diaghilev, but that scent seems to be greatly inspired by another fragrance from his former house.

    Cuir Cannage is very very close to Creeds Royal English Leather, if anything.

    My thoughts on Great Britain are complicated… When I first spray it I love it.. but there’s this metallic chemical note that gets more pronounced the longer I wear it… and strangely an aroma like burnt popcorn and martini olives shows up… plus the ambergris in it smells quite fishy… and the juice % just feels really thin compared to say Diaghilev.

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  2 года назад +1

      I think Diaghilev is still my favorite from the house of Roja Parfums but to be quite honest yesterday was my first experience with Great Britian and I loved it ... it instanly skyrocketed to 2nd place... wish I had 2 grand burning a hole in my pocket for a full 100ml bottle... but alas I will enjoy my 7.5 ml discovery atomizer in the meantime 😊

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  2 года назад +1

      I dont get the metallic chemical note or burnt popcorn luckily 😅
      I do get a big dose of modern castoreum in the late dry down ... probably whatever synthetic they are using in place of castoreum now a days... i love that note & mixing with the birch & leather & rojas patented florals just does it for me... roja is a hit or miss house but after a full wear yesterday & comparing it to CDR (which I think I love just as much if not more than GB) great britain is a home run for me. But unless all of a sudden Roja likes me and sends me a free bottle (I argued with him on youtube a few months back about him not being a perfumer 😅) i will never give him that kind of $ no matter how good the perfume is 🤠 cheers mate thanks for sharing
