I actually wondered the same myself years ago. Tried to do a stealth archer equivalent on survival mode. No companions, no mods, no power armor. The verticality and openness of some locales like the quarry, downtown Boston and Nuka World make this playstyle fairly fun in isolation, but for the most part it's not fun or viable. All enemies bum rush you so you have to drop them fairly quickly. You shift between blwoing your cover on the first shot and having to have a shootout for the rest of the enemies and cheesing the broken stealth system which allows you to dissapear in front of their eyes. Obviously I mainly used the bolt action for this. I didn't end up taking the playthrough really far. The game is clearly not designed with something like this in mind and most quests take place in linear dungeons where the opportunities for stealth are minimal. In fact there's practically no benefit to it in any situation over going in guns blazing.
As someone who's very enthusiastic about guns, I have a soft spot for bows and archery in general. I made a bow using PVC pipes and fiberglass markers and although it's not necessarily the best in performance, it is functional for the most part. The legend known as "Ahoy" said it best in his Iconic Arms video series: "The Bow and Arrow -- Elegant... Effective... Eternal."
When I fought Kellogg I found the fort Hagen armoury passcode and got the fat man, he then proceeded to say let’s fight then, in which he received a small nuclear warhead through his cranium instantly atomising his entire body, don’t know how I retrieved any brain matter or anything really from a dust pile
Ya know Brandy I'm not even a second in the video but when I seen "Fallout 4 as a stealth archer" by yours truly (you) I just knew I had to watch this video bc as much as I am of a fan of just going in guns blazing, I'm also a big fan of stealth games so yeah I'm gonna watch this video now lol
I LOVE the Stealth Archer Play Style. Getting that Compound Bow from Kellog's house was just *chefkiss*. Destroying the synths with stealth headshots was so beautiful.
Saw the title, and knowing nothing about FO4, thought "certainly". I remember getting 100% stealth in Morrowind. The game kind of 'stopped' after that. I ended up rolling it back a couple points just so the AI would work again.
i like this new genre of youtuber. delusional self-aware deep-voiced adult men playing powerful videogames while casually cracking some of the best jokes in history through voice-overs
This is the first video I have seen of this person, and it's already very promising. Also, I feel like the "This can't be good for the economy" catchphrase has a story behind it.
I think I have a decent amount of mods, I can’t get any more than 2 gigs cause I play on Xbox, but I found a couple of machine gun mods which are pretty cool, my favorite is the machine guns and mini guns rebirth by skibiddaa, I think we all know of this one, but I got one which is surprisingly quite interesting and is only 1.5 megabytes, it’s called the Nimrout heavy machine gun, while it’s nothing special, it’s still pretty cool
Fun fact: IRL, arrows shot from powerful bows or crossbows don't get stuck in living targets. They penetrate, causing a massive bleeding, with victims dropping dead being out of blood. It's actually kinda funny to see them drop as the concept of being already dead stays alien to them until the very end.
2:02 It's funny how in media archers are depicted as weaker than a knight or something when really they probably need like gorilla strenght to pull the damn thing. We're all brainwashed by elegant fantasy hot elves.
With how much stealth archery seems to be a thing with Skyrim, it amazes me that I never played one a bit. Ever since I got Skyrim modding on console, I stuffed in all the lore friendly/fitting magic mods in that I could: as well as lots of other things including weapon and enchantment mods along with fashion stuff. Have barely touched a non-magical weapon since: I have so many magic mods that all my characters are mages and still are unique somehow. Yeah, never being spotted and sneaking around is nice: but you haven't lived until you've thrown a miniature galaxy at someone.
Not gonna lie. I failed to finish this vid for more than 4 time when I try to watch it on bed time. Man BrandyBoy voice was so soothing that I fall asleep without knowing it. Good vid by the way.

@@ItsYaBoyBrandyBoy I would lol
"Has noodle arms." My dude, Have you ever pulled back a hunting bow in real life? You can't do that with noodle arms. lmao
i used to be adventurer like you, till i took an arrow to the knee
That Cambridge rider with the remington learned the mad minute.
Eternal."
Fun Fact, Mama Murphy has a strength level of 19, which is only 3 levels less than a normal deathclaw
what
No-one will notice.
If there’s no-one to notice.

Hol' the fck up, is that a car!? A working, fully functioning, moving car!?
When I fought Kellogg I found the fort Hagen armoury passcode and got the fat man, he then proceeded to say let’s fight then, in which he received a small nuclear warhead through his cranium instantly atomising his entire body, don’t know how I retrieved any brain matter or anything really from a dust pile
" POV Detroit" lmao!!!!! I live in Detroit, you ain't wrong
I looked away for a moment and looked back to a Day's Gone playthrough lol loved the video
I LOVE the Stealth Archer Play Style. Getting that Compound Bow from Kellog's house was just *chefkiss*. Destroying the synths with stealth headshots was so beautiful.
You can use a minigun in stealth, BTW. Just thought some people should know.
"I joined the Railroad not because I believe toasters are people..." this line made me chuckle.
That Fallout 3/new vegas style hud is making me moister than an oyster.
Love the giggles. I watch on 1.5x speed and makes it sound even better. Made my day better.
Man, if you could at some point put out a list/modpack of your Fallout 4 Mods, it'd be epic. Because man it looks SO good
“Has noodle arms”
Laughs in 90 lbs draw
This guy is having way too much fun with this, and I love it.
When you said “nobody can see the *mods you’re downloading* “ you shoulda shown literially any bikini mod
32:10 Brandy's; we have the SNEAK!
Legit sounds like Lego Batman when he laughs
I think I have a decent amount of mods, I can’t get any more than 2 gigs cause I play on Xbox, but I found a couple of machine gun mods which are pretty cool, my favorite is the machine guns and mini guns rebirth by skibiddaa, I think we all know of this one, but I got one which is surprisingly quite interesting and is only 1.5 megabytes, it’s called the Nimrout heavy machine gun, while it’s nothing special, it’s still pretty cool
Bro, i gotta comb through your mod list, your game looks gorgeous! 600+ mods tho...
LOL - "Just begging to be stealth-arched..." What a wonderful new word!
'that's a mystery mouse a-tool I'll use for later'
Just started watching, nice
2:02 It's funny how in media archers are depicted as weaker than a knight or something when really they probably need like gorilla strenght to pull the damn thing. We're all brainwashed by elegant fantasy hot elves.
Your laugh is such a joy to listen to. Thank you for the feel good chemicals ❤
56:36 The black hawk on the airport helipad what is that mod called?
Gotta love mamma murphy proving preston wrong in the end, the chems didn't kill her... they let her face tank a nuke on an arrow
Let's all agree the Chuckles are the FUCKING BEST. Everytime he chuckles I start dying of laughter. Really good video man. Definitely earned a new Sub
"I didn't know how to fix this, so I did the right thing. I abused this exploit for the rest of the run."
This is a man that truly understands me.
