I love how getting a good run lets you preserve it in your drone, which then helps you get better runs. It’s light meta progression I’d say

Regarding the Hellspitter/Hellsplitter thing, one of the upgrades is called Hellsplitter.
Found your channel back when you were playing Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor a bunch, and really enjoyed watching you play that. I picked the game up not too long afterwards, and played myself right along with your videos. Now I'm back doing the exact same thing with this game! Really interesting watching your progression compared with my own, and looking toward you playing this game quite a bit more in the coming days!

Why I don't play Tesla
I play this all the time with a controller and you can absolutely aim with the right stick. Even better, you don't have to toggle auto aim on and off with a controller. Set it to auto aim, then if you want to aim at something just do so with the right stick and then it will automatically go back to auto aim when you release it.
also when you took the pauldron stock, it didn't just increase your armor by 1. It went from 4 to 13.
This is basically how I play it as well on controller. I should see if there is a toggle for auto aim, though, because it makes the sniper attachment a death sentence.
36:50 in my head a "Dump stat" is a stat where you dump all your points into, but maybe iam wrong
It's a stat that you put *in* the dump. You let it be garbage on purpose to allow the other stats to be better.

The Drone can have 2 separate Functions like Bodyguard and the Speed Boost active at once.
01:16:36 You can move the mouse cursor or the controller's left stick to the left to highlight the stats and then scroll down to see all the other info.
The Tesla Coil Tuning options show up because you have the Barrel that causes electric shocks when you get hit.
I just noticed that the airdrops look different depending on if it's an augment or a tuning, the tunings have a yellow circle at the top and the augments have a different colour that I can't remember right now

Hellspitter might not roll off the tongue as well as Hellsplitter, but to your credit the former does evolve into the latter with upgrades.

The drone damage on that last run was insane, the sniper rifle not so much, bullet speed is needed to make the spinning bullet augment work the best.
I think the reason why the game run so smooth is because the way bullet are coded.
We are all gamers so we all understand how projectiles work right?
Normally this create an entity that must be always check for event. Mainly collision.
But I think this game use Vector prediction.
The best way to explain this is imagine the orbit of the earth it’s the Vector path of bullet.
And a random asteroid is an enemy.
We know if a asteroid will hit us at a certain position and time because we understand the orbit of earth and the vector of the asteroid. This let us detect if a collision happen in the FUTURE.
That’s the important part.
FUTURE.
Normally bullets checks if they hit an enemy NOW.
This mean a line of code is being re-check and re-check so many time.
Now imagine. HUNDREDS of bullet running collision check code.
That cause lag.
But what if. You already know.
This create then the illusion. Of actual projectiles.

1:08:10 - crit chance scales linearly, +20% crit chance from 80 - 100 or from 0-20 will increase the damage by the same amount, and since you have high damage and high critbonus that's usually a lot...

That's my drone build since it gives so much trash mob clear I affectionately refer to it as my street sweeper build
@wonderbots the drones actually level up as they did when you leveled the gun, you can test it by not getting any levels for a while then picking it up checking the timer then watching your drone slam 4-7 levels as you do a exp orb at 4minutes for example.
The reason it may feel like you were moving slower and slower is because you were increasing your vision, which since it allows you to see more, your relative movement speed to how much you can see slows down.
Check the second upgrade on "light weight stock". Adds damage based on how far projectile travels. Would do well with this build.

the SMG carries hard in tier 2 zones or if you obtain that one blue weapon that shoots rings that carries too

But acquire missiles IS a strategy! A very fun sounding one at that.
I never thought that damage numbers could have been doing it. I just lost a hydra run with splitter mag and the hellspitter barrel that doubles your bullet count. it was satisfying, but my computer was chugging
The ideal weapon for the Hellspitter augment would probably be the weapon that is simultaneously the furthest from rate of fire cap, and has the most mag size. The sniper seems to fit.
It is a shame that the other barrels don’t synergize as broadly as the hellspitter

I used the helix barrel in the demo a long while back, along with the explosive magazine. The sheer explosions was beautiful but the reload and mag size was terrible.
Still fun though
It _looks_ like the tree might be one of the meta-currencies? IIRC, I saw a tree-looking icon on some of the higher-end purchases.
Ahh. I thought that was from the last boss.
I believe the tree is from the malphor boss and it was a bug that it wasn't showing or dropping at the end of the run. A recent bug fix made you able to get the end boss drops again and you can see them on earned drops at the end screen now as well
@@wanderbots Ah yeah, you're right! When you're in the upgrade store at base, you can hover over the various currencies and it tells you where they come from!
Take a shot every time he says "flow state".
I had a super similar build, sadly I can't really test the dps at the base because the explosions cover the dps meter
for your movement speed you might need to scroll your stats down a bit, it doesn't show all of them and I think it's at the bottom
Re: Transition to other purposes as a streamer - I thought Wanderbot's main purpose was a sleep aid?
I mean, with splitter magazine and hellspitter, you'd have a hell splitter, just sayin, you kinda got it already.
I think im the opposite, once a game gets easy enough that i dont have to think it tends to be boring
On the trees that give exp, I've absolutely used them as a decoy sometimes to get out of a sticky situation

Your early talk about the sniper, it is worth mentioning I saw a streamer turn it into more of a belt fed machine gun than a sniper rifle through increased magazine size, fire rate, and reload speed. Mind you the fact they were able to do that made me less interested in the game because it feels like outside weird builds like the bubble it is too easy to make a homogeneous build.
For anyone who have this game you must try homing flamethrower it is one of the most fun weapon i created

I did a double flamethrower homing splinter build that had so much movement speed the game even with all the optimized settings like damage numbers off ect.. It lagged me into a wall lol
That is the weird thing if you have splitter magazine game will start to lag but i had 41,5 bullet cound and game was ok with it

Selling the drone gun in the end when it made 87% of all the damage dealt in that round, seems a bit stupid...? Even though it made the game lag...
Seems like splitter's genome is a trap as it looks to be multiplicative. So you're getting twice as many bullets that deal 1/3 the damage, cutting down your damage. Maybe there's a good way to build into blue damage via many bullets but I haven't found it.
Mostly I've found a lot of success with the stuff that procs off of reload. Idk why ya don't like light stock. Just pump fire rate and reload to the sky, let mag size be as small as possible other than the scope that procs off reloads.
Of course with this strat you end up more likely to lag out, so I usually stick with bullets and avoid explosions. Which sucks because I adore the tracking rockets.
Still, it feels like assault rifle with that build has been the only thing that can carry me through hive barrens. Otherwise those bs tracking blobs merc me no matter what I do.
Oh and don't forget to pump bullet speed as it increases your range. Unfortunately the tracking scope doesn't like bullet speed as it can only turn at a set rate.
