@wildsmiley - There isn't a Japanese dub, the Japanese version actually uses the English voices. The English voices are the original voices. Plus the voices are actually serviceable for game from the early 2000s, Michael McConnohie who plays the racing manager, has been acting longer than most Japanese voice actors.
I Know You Made This A Few Years Ago But Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! I Have Been Looking For This Game For Yeeears And I Couldn't Remember The Name For The Life of Me.
This is just what I needed after writing an 8 page paper and studying for an exam. I was actually constantly checking my subscriptions to see if you uploaded anything. I need an excuse to take a break, as I've been doing this whole time instead of writing my paper.
"Dead or Alive racing game" XD XD XD Like driving oversized breast-shaped cars that exhaust small shiny hearts and the control scheme include only 1 button for accelerate, braking, handbraking, reversing and nitrous ignition? :D But hey, don't underestimate female (race) drivers! Especially not in Japan where young schoolgirls fight with Godzilla and 52ft tall robots. Ladies are awesome!
actually if you play the game they are fairly normal proportions for a video game. they are mostly above average but nothing beyond the realms of reality
I love this game. I especially love that you can psyche your AI opponents so they screw up like real human players do, I wish more games could do that. Literally the only other game I know that has something similar is XGRA where when you have damaged AI racers to the point when they're just about to explode they back off and even beg for mercy!
I had this game on the GameCube and really enjoyed it. The driving behind guys to freak them out mechanic was kind of overpowered, but the story was insane and fun.
I MEAN NO OFFENCE BY THIS AT ALL! You're a good looking fellow! ;) BUT I liked your reviews when we could't see you, because it created a small dention on how you looked. I could imagine how you looked, and yeah.. wtf Am I saying xD Keep on reviewing!!!
Love the "Q: Are We Not Racing"; "A: We Are Girls *D*riving *EVO*lution" reference!" Hope you got the chance to see the Spudboys' concert at Stage AE, back in the summer of 2011. If not, I hope you at least got Something for Everybody (_transparent blue vinyl LP version recommended_).
Well, this game gave me an idea here. so check this out, since he mentioned that the storyline provided some leverage into this game, i'd say for gran turismo here's this: so some people remember the driving missions in gran turismo? Well they should really interweave the driving missions into the arcade mode and make some events with a storyline. They can really go for a story like this and really become something really interesting from many more driving missions
Toca race driver 2 for PS2 has a slight story line but the racing events in it are some of the best from any racing game including the high end games of today.
I did check it out. Plays the MGS encounter tune when you play as him :D Still, looks nothing like him. To be fair I don't know what I was really expecting lol. It was the GBA after all.
Nintendo really needs to get with the times and create their own Racing Sim. Now that the WiiU is here they have the power and technology to make it happen. Come on Nintendo Lets get started already!!! Its sad i Never knew this game existed on the gamecube. I always searched for a Racing sim on Game Cube not knowing this game was their. My childhood would have been a little better had i of had a racing game kinda like Gran Turismo for the Game Cube.
Anyone have two or all three versions of this game? PS2, CG and Xbox? I have the Xbox version and I've been wondering if I should get the PS2 and/or GC versions as well, but only if they are superior in any way to the Xbox version, if the Xbox version is the best then I'll skip the other two because they are insanely hard to find...
got this on cube with pac man game which i've never played..always thought it seemed like it was a late ps1 game that they just ported over but i kind of like the way you can psyche the other drivers out and the cheesy voice overs
Ok, that "anger meter" is enough to make me go to my local store and buy this game. There's nothing I like more than plowing into the back of my opponents in racing games to throw them off the track.
i got my gc version again after trading it a long time ago for about £7 with the pac man gba link up game which i'll never get to play but it wasnt hard to find at all..amazon is great still for a bargain on seconfd hand stuff
Underrated game on the Gamecube. Felt more like a successor to RR4 than RR5 did.
It's incredibly affordable now...I recently got a sealed copy off ebay for just 4 dollars!
Great buy and worth every penny for racing fans.
And 6yrs later i got my used copy for 20
@@thedirectorscut4848 Wow, that's some gaming inflation! Hope you enjoy it though.
@@philberto78 thanks, its in good condition and im enjoying it but now i know not to wait too long lol
Race Contact 5: The unsung tour XD
Lol or race combat zéro balkan GT 🙂
Race Contact 04: Shattered Tarmac
R: Racing Evo was pretty awesome. The headset chatter & tailgating effect on drivers ahead were awesome additions.
I'm bruasGT online.
Looks like a fun racing game. And it's nice to hear Mark's opinion on it, since every major review site trashed it.
I fucking loved this game. Lacks an internal camera but awesome game anyway.

The "pit" guy has some decent voice acting.
That would be interesting and awesome if Koei Tecmo made a Dead or Alive Racing game.
I still watch these videos some nights right b4 i sleep. Long live the intergalactic space arcade!
I remember skipping this game a long time ago, Its looks fun i should have just bought then.
I Know You Made This A Few Years Ago But Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! I Have Been Looking For This Game For Yeeears And I Couldn't Remember The Name For The Life of Me.
I remember seeing an article about this in Official Playstation Magazine. I was mostly interested in the pictures of Rena at the time. lol
How can you review R:Racing Evolution and not mention its awesome soundtrack? I'm disapointed CGR.
nice review I found it funny and informative I might pick up a copy of this game on the weekend
This is just what I needed after writing an 8 page paper and studying for an exam. I was actually constantly checking my subscriptions to see if you uploaded anything. I need an excuse to take a break, as I've been doing this whole time instead of writing my paper.

oh boi

I like this game I'm gonna get it for Gamecube! Thank you Mark for showing us not only todays but older games!
I didn't know the Ridge Racer series had an entry with licensed vehicles...
I honestly think this game was underrated.
I had so much fun with this game, specifically the drag mode..
Esperando mucho tiempo por este review, un buen juego.
I love this game, it oozed style and had an awesome look and a great theme song : )
this channel is pure nostalgia
Is this like the origin of the Ridge Racer girl?
Daniel Jason Different person altogether.
It's a different chick, but understandable confusion since those namco girls all look the same
I heard that Asuka Kazama from Tekken is visually based on her. Whole reason I bought the game lol
Dude the graphics are amazing for PS2
I had this game on the GameCube and really enjoyed it. The driving behind guys to freak them out mechanic was kind of overpowered, but the story was insane and fun.
Guess what? This is actually a Ridge Racer game, not a Dead Or Alive game.
A racing game with fan service. Good old days.
Racing games these days could definitely use some story and cutscenes. How hard Would it be to add a 5-6 hour campaign mode.
I love this game! One of my favorite PS2 titles. Also I love Rena and Gina. :P
I MEAN NO OFFENCE BY THIS AT ALL! You're a good looking fellow! ;) BUT I liked your reviews when we could't see you, because it created a small dention on how you looked. I could imagine how you looked, and yeah.. wtf Am I saying xD Keep on reviewing!!!
great visuals. looked like gt4 for a moment there
Wish i'd owned this when I had a PS2. Looks crackin! : )
Loved this on the GC.
3:30 Those aren't corvettes. They're Viper competition coupes. Nonetheless, a great review and for some reason it reminded me of the Enthusia series.
The dramatic radio chatter makes me think this is Ace Combat with cars.
This game looks really cool!
I love this game simple yet unique.
Love the "Q: Are We Not Racing"; "A: We Are Girls *D*riving *EVO*lution" reference!"
Hope you got the chance to see the Spudboys' concert at Stage AE, back in the summer of 2011. If not, I hope you at least got Something for Everybody (_transparent blue vinyl LP version recommended_).
This comment holds up through the middle of the next decade!
I remember this from GameCube I love this game lol
That game looks wicked!
I had it for gamecube and I want it again. Too bad I sold it in a moment of need.
how could I miss this game?!
you HAVE TO make a review of Metal Arms: Glitch in the Systemfor PS2
its one of the most underrated games ever! it would be the best!
Well, this game gave me an idea here.
so check this out, since he mentioned that the storyline provided some leverage into this game, i'd say for gran turismo here's this:

There you go. The review was right after all.
You should do, Hotwheels velocity x and toca race driver3, I think youll like them, make sure you put hotwheels velocity x on very hard!
I'm glad i still have this game...best part is, its still sealed :)
Doesn't some Gamecube copies com with Pac-Man vs?
The motorcycle one of these rocks two...
some of the dialogue reminds me of speed racer. And the dialogue with the music reminds me of a speed racer remix
BTW, Yes. I wish there were more games like this (Racing+StoryLine)
i gotta get this game
Toca Race Driver 2 was awesome, and had a good storyline ...
Toca race driver 2 for PS2 has a slight story line but the racing events in it are some of the best from any racing game including the high end games of today.
is That from Namco xD ?
that game looks pretty fun
It actually looks very good :)
He's an interview with Mark.
Game's awesome. Music's even better. Time Compression is the best BGM on there.
Had this for THE gamecube. And that fiat had insane specs and was the best car overall
Ace Combat: Gran Turismo
Mark, you should let Mohammed join CGR! dayum you can feel his passion!
I did check it out. Plays the MGS encounter tune when you play as him :D Still, looks nothing like him. To be fair I don't know what I was really expecting lol. It was the GBA after all.
Great game, seems much smoother and less pixilated on xbox. Plus i think the xbox version had more unlockable stuff ps2.
wow, im suprised by the graphics of this game
ironic i was curious bout this game cause i just read bout it in an old comic book i have lol
Cool game!
This reminds of Gran Turismo 3, but with a story.
I have this game, pretty fun.
Especialy when you get to that fiat 500. :P

For anyone wondering, the game is $4.00 brand new on Amazon right now.
5:21 It's faint, but I could swear that's Johnny Yong Bosch
I liked it but i remember it being short as hell
i LOVE CLASSIC GAME ROOM.
What ever happened to CGR? Last time I checked there were just weird t-shirt logo vids or something being uploaded.
got this on cube with pac man game which i've never played..always thought it seemed like it was a late ps1 game that they just ported over but i kind of like the way you can psyche the other drivers out and the cheesy voice overs
I had that game for Xbox it was awesome
Do you ever blink?
Is the same, as Reiko is the Ridge racing mascot and here is the racer. I dont know why in the US version they change the name.
Ok, that "anger meter" is enough to make me go to my local store and buy this game. There's nothing I like more than plowing into the back of my opponents in racing games to throw them off the track.
fuuuck yeah 1080p still not available
now i feel like a true fan :)
I remember this game, was pretty neat but I always preferred gran turismo over any other racing game
i got my gc version again after trading it a long time ago for about £7 with the pac man gba link up game which i'll never get to play but it wasnt hard to find at all..amazon is great still for a bargain on seconfd hand stuff
The new G.I. Joe movie WILL have an El Camino!!! \m/
Mohammed from Qatar is the man. He's so cool
I'm Buying this game now on GC, just so i have a Racing Sim on the Wii. Heck for $3 its worth it.
I really want to see CallMeKevin playing this game.
WOW !!
u have a cool voice
I don't remember if I owned or rented it for the GameCube, but I just bought it on Xbox for a dollar.
Can you play this with the original Japanese and English subtitles instead? Not crazy about the dubbing..
Mohammed must be a sheikh. And this game surprised me aswell, it's kind of tempting.
Mine did.
Holy crap the CGR hq have changed :O :L Arcades!
"Haha! What futuristic world is this where girls drive racecars? Please!"
Quote of the video.
Omg nostalgia
and the graphics were ahead of the time
Are we not men? We are Devo!
