Excellent video, it's nice to see some quality info for war there's just not any out there and there's definitely nobody that explains how things work and why like you do. I'm very much looking forward to the offense video and the continuation of the series in general thanks bro.
Thank you! We have War today so I want to make sure my teams and information is lined up before I record the offense side. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll have the offense side done.
Great video, bud, this is super helpful! I always enjoy trying new combos, as it gets so dull and repetitive facing the same teams over and over. It’s refreshing to see a different approach! I really wish they’d make some updates to War, since the modes are getting pretty stale. I’ll definitely give some of your suggestions a shot, as War is still my favorite mode in the game.
Weapon X can be used as an LDS / Omega Red home, rather than Cabal. All players have Wolverine built for Alpha Flight., so really it's just X-23 and Silver Samurai that you need at an acceptable level (neither needs to be big, it's the LDS show). You want Cabal for offense because they are part of an easy counter for Astral (2M punchup) if you encounter them on defense. That has more upside since Astral is a tougher out on defense than Cabal.
@@DacierGaming Apoc & OG Emma. Apoc Ultimate + Iso Stun Strange. Falcon punch Shadow King, control the rest from there Not sure off-hand if Kang works since Emma works a little differently (but also let's you use him elsewhere).
Tested the difference - if you bring Emma (Villain) then Iron Patriot will go before Emma Frost (X-Men). Otherwise with Kang she will go ahead of them and potentially Ability Block Iron Patriot or Namor. I made a 2nd attempt w/ Kang, and Namor got Ability Blocked. Since Namor didn't get to rewind on T1 Ultimate, it allowed Moondragon to take a turn. I still won handily but things could definitely snowball especially at different power levels. I tested this against a 6R Emma but many players have 3D on her waiting in the wings, I'm sure she could potentially one-shot someone.
@@Real2KRosters ok so Emma seems to be better then. So question for you. When I do the offense list should I go off of this information or on what the defense list is at?
Captain Sam is a good lifter character for New Avengers, since his Ultimate gives speed bar to SKILL allies, and his Special gives Speed Up to all AVENGER allies. At 14M Health he takes forever to kill, and he and Tigra should give Ronin enough room to kill stuff.
I'm curious if you considered the Lizard + Shocker variant of cabal. Liz is easier to pull away from S6 than LDS from Orc or plug-n-play. Liz + Shoc goes faster in between the two and there is just more in general that can catch an opponent off guard. Maybe not knowing shocker gives 75% turn bar to liz, or forgetting about liz's interaction with spiderverse, etc. For cabal, I feel the name of the game is always going to pop off as early as possible. Any extra beefiness with LDS isn't worth it. Imo.
@@marshallsmith19 I ran the Lizard and Shocker comp for a while. They are a really good alternative without putting anything major on defense with them.
These types of videos were always my favourite. Could I offer a suggestion when selecting teams? 1. Don’t use a character more than once. 2. Don’t use the same teams on offence as you have on defence. 3. Even though a team might be a top defence team, if they should be used on offence, or are better on offence to take out a certain defence team, can you put them in offence? And example might be an Odin team used to take out Mephisto. 4. If not already planned, can you do an offence video too?
@@jeffpilon5136 yeah this is what I have on defense currently so there's no overlap and at the beginning I mentioned I'll be doing the Offense next week or so.
@DacierGaming personally, I would have overlap bc it gives people options. Just bc you may have something on D, it doesn't mean they're not useful on offense also
@ The problem with that. What’s the best defence team orchis Odin Mephisto… next best, nighstalkers Odin Mephisto, the merc for money Odin, etc… the list is just ridiculous. Most people just want to be told what teams to put and where and who they beat.
Mephisto + Nis is really cheap to be beaten by M4M + Weaver. I would suggest atleast version with MK over Agatha. MKs ult cant miss, he is hard to land CC on and without agatha they will go into stealth a bit later to counter some speed from Daken. Also I think variations of SD + BTS + MLF/Photon are in the top 10 def teams and will surprise alot of ppl.
I was also able to one shot Nightstalkers Mephisto in this last War that I had. I'll test out the SD + BTS + MLF team this upcoming War. Thank you for the tip on that one.
FWIW I don't think Black Knight is a good lifter option, as it removes Out of Time as a valuable offensive team. The biggest issue Annihilators have on defense is they lose to lower level stuff like Xtreme/Rogue, SD/Apoc, or Gamma/Apoc, so they def require a lifter. Surfer's kit just isn't good enough in 2025. Not a terrible fit for Dorm if you're putting Sam on NA. I wonder if Void Knight works here (the Superior Surfer) with the pull & flip.

That is a pretty good point with Cabal being on offensive counter for Astral. Who are the 2 pieces with them? I'm assuming Kang and someone else.

Not sure off-hand if Kang works since Emma works a little differently (but also let's you use him elsewhere).
Tested and Kang also works, though if he has Striker you don't want Kang to target Strange, you need the Vulnerable for Apoc to Stun him.

One thing about Illuminati is you'd want Iron Man > Black Bolt for War. All of Black Bolts bonuses & kit upgrades are Crucible only.

Void Knight would be an interesting addition to Annihilators with the Ability Block and flips. It might be worth testing out.
As an addendum, I've had Out of Time as an Alpha Flight counter, but vanilla AF is so rare now that I think it's correct to break Out of Time up now.
@@Real2KRosters Yeah the most common that I see is Super Skrull with them which Out of Time may still work due to the retaliates.
