Oh my goodness, I should be cleaning up my studio right now but then I decided to watch you clean up yours instead lol. Is just me but I love watching people clean up and organize but when it comes to doing it myself, Id rather just close the door :)
I live alone so my art stuff is spread out throughout the house. I have plenty of storage space so not too much laying out. Clutter drives me nuts. Your studio looks very lovely!! So fun. Yes use up those little paint pots and make a video for us-2 birds with one stone, as the saying goes.
I do have a little bit in the living room where I sometimes do art in front of the TV, but otherwise I keep it all in the studio so I can close the door on it, haha! I like some clutter, but it needs to be contained eventually so I have room to make more mess, lol.
In the midst of the same thing. In my old age I find it harder to make decisions. So the less I have to choose from, the easier to actually make something. Re-homing lots of product. At the stage where it looks like a tornado hit. You done good!!
Ah the old tornado stage! 🌪️That's usually what mine looks like, especially after having just finished a project. 😂 Also, I struggle making decisions at any given time, and being a Libra doesn't help, lol!
Such a great video, i love seeing other artists studio! I dont have any artist friends or family so anytime i show anyone my studio they are like "uh okay cool" and then they make their way to leave lol. Maybe one day Ill meet an mixed media artist or watercolor artist in person and we can admire eachothers studio but until then I just love these kinds of videos!! Thanks for sharing and much much love!💚💙
I'm in much the same boat; most people I know in person have zero interest in what I do, lol! Thankfully I have met plenty of like-minded new friends here on RUclips, who can appreciate my "artist problems", like messy studio and running out of storage space etc. I am so grateful! 😁❤
Lol I’m one of those too, nobody around me gets even slightly interested when I’m trying to show them my studio. Make a RUclips film and discover me and lots of others there loving your studio too 😊
Oh my goodness so true on people being underwhelmed who are not interested in the art studios. Like when you show them you feel like "TA-DA! we are now in color heaven! have a look around! dont you want to play?!" and they have deadpan look on their face and say oh nice and turn around and walk out. And you were expecting "oooo show me more! "
It's the time of year for it, I think! I saw Miranda Watson's videos too, sorting out the drawers in her studio area. That also inspired me to do something about my mess, lol. I hope you are happy with your new studio organisation! 😁❤
Marie Kondo has changed my life. You should read her book. My clothes are tidy already. Books and Office is my problem still. But I work like you, to get it better.
Such a fun Video! It feels so good to tidy or even watch someone tidy! My studio is such a disaster at the moment so this video is encouraging me to get back at it and make it useful. I struggle with stuff out or stuff put away. I love a clean look but when I am arting I so want the stuff that my muse can grab and dabble with anything she wants and so I am back to many things out again.
I know that feeling! Out of sight, out of mind....but then when everything's out it's overwhelming....I think what I will be aiming to do more of is visit random corners of my studio and pick out art supplies to use, and work out an artwork based on what I have on hand, lol.
Love the kitties. They really are a great distraction. Your videos are motivating me to finish working on mine. I have a she shed behind my house, but it's been really cold and snowy so I have been staying warm in the house. Thank you for making these videos. New subbie here. Diana from California USA.
A She Shed....that's fantastic! 😂❤ It's difficult when a studio space doesn't have a good temperature. We had to install window awnings over my studio for summers because it gets much too hot in here. In the winter it's great because it is a naturally warm room, yay! Welcome to my channel, thank you for your lovely comment!
Oh my goodness, I got such a kick out of you having your bike in your studio. That's totally something I would do - especially if it meant avoiding spiders! I always have my boys de-spider my bikes before I ride, lol. Gandalf and the feathers - LOL! So true about the mail caddy just becoming completely full. I'm horribly with paperwork. I try a system for a while but then usually only end up going through things at tax time, lol. Better luck this year. :-) How perfect that the totes fit in your trolley like that! Can't wait to see the video on the Colour Parade tin. Love the tidier workspace - it really helps, doesn't it?
I feel so much better now that it is tidier! Well, it was until I started filming a video...but sure...it's tidy! 🤣 I wish spiders wouldn't decide that bikes are good places to live...ugh there have been quite a lot around lately. My inboxes also get done at tax time, lol!
Always great to get organized. Personally I prefer the smaller space I work in now, it's a lot easier to keep tidier than my bigger space, although I need to keep an eye on the storage there too. lol :D
Hi Becky, your studio looks great! I am glad you found your prismas. I love your telephone. ☎️ It is beautiful. Yes, I would love to see you use up your collection of paint pots on a painting. I bet you would create something wonderful. I wish I lived near an Ikea store. Oh well, there is Amazon. Your studio looks better than mine.
Thank you! I am feeling better now I've organised the chaos a bit more, lol! It's an ongoing thing really; tidy, make a mess, make more mess, tidy it again etc etc. 😂
@@BeckyTregear I know, right? Organizing is a constant thing that I am very bad at doing...or in other words I do it badly. I love watching other people organize their art space. Oh and yes I look forward to seeing and watching your video on you making that wooden container with the frozen stickers into something beautiful.
It looks a lot better. Ikea here I come love the white containers on the shelf I could sure use those on my kitchen shelves. So satisfying watching someone else clean up lol. You have so many art supplies its like looking at an art shop I could just live in there, my stash is limited as I don't have a lot of free space so no chance of misplacing anything but it could do with a tidy up as well. Well done :)
IKEA has been a life saver with all of its wonderful storage solutions! It's always fun watching other people tidy up: I watch quite a lot of those videos myself, haha. The downfall with a large studio space IS the space.....so much room for lots of art supplies, and the potential for epic messes lol!
I feel your disorganized pain…. The HUGE ikea store is only a couple of miles away from here, and from the successful organization you’ve done, I probably should seek out their organization products… you’ve given me some really good ideas for organizing… thank you… my kitty wishes I’d make some space for her to hang out in my studio too… loved your video! Jill
I don't like tidying up but I like the look of it when it's done. It also inspires me when I organise my art supplies. I would like to see you using the Pan Pastels. I didn't know that you have a set.
Becky, my craft room is always a mess! I no sooner sort it out, clean it up and it looks lovely ... I blink and then it's back to square one ! You could use the other plastic tote as a cleaning supplies container for under the kitchen sink (that's what I did... I found the tote too big for my craft table so found another use for it). Thank you for sharing your storage ideas
Haha that is exactly what happens to me! Tidy one moment, utter chaos the next! 😂 That is a great idea for that plastic tote, I will see if there is room under the kitchen sink (uh-oh...lol!).
@@BeckyTregear I always tell my hubby (when he claims ‘what a mess’) that ‘artists are busy being artistic! No time to be tidy!’ In actual fact I’d love to be organised 24/7! But don’t tell him 😉
Well done on organizing your studio! I have one art cart. I couldn’t live without it. Before I bought my cart my art supplies were all over the kitchen counter and I was running out of work space. 😅
Suggestion to tie a bright ribbon onto the lid opening tool to help it be easily seen....... so much these days is all made in the same black and hard to find on a desk so ive taken to tying bright ribbons or putting bright stickers on things
Mine also used to be a corner of a bedroom when we lived in a much smaller apartment. Now it is in a much larger space, giving me plenty of opportunity to fill it with bigger mess! 🤣
I just did the same! A much smaller clean out, so I’m fitting it into a vlog, but organization nonetheless! I think all those ikea items are always really helpful. I’m so jealous of your art space but perhaps not the larger area to clean up (my single desk already gets messy enough as it is😂). I love your customization videos so I’m excited to see what you do with that box/organizer! I don’t blame you for keeping the bike inside, nobody wants spiders😵💫
I hate spiders so much! There was a big one on the studio ceiling a few weeks ago....ugh!!! Yes indeed the bigger the space the bigger the mess, haha! Looking forward to seeing your clean out too. I am sure The Desk Corner gets its fair share of clutter, heheh.
I really enjoy your videos, thank you. I visit Melbourne regularly ( in normal years lol) and wondered if you could recommend an art shop that is good to browse? Out near Eltham if possible. I like just looking, oh and occasionally buying. Thanks.
Thank you! If The Art Shop in Bayswater is a little far, there is Senior Art Supplies which has a store in Eaglemont. Nearby there is an even more boutique store called St Luke Artist Colourmen, and that is owned by the guy who started Langridge, so they have all the pigments and other cool stuff. I hope these are of some help!
Oh my goodness, I should be cleaning up my studio right now but then I decided to watch you clean up yours instead lol. Is just me but I love watching people clean up and organize but when it comes to doing it myself, Id rather just close the door :)
Haha I know that feeling! I'd been closing the door on that mess for long enough, so I thought I'd better get to work and clean it up. 😆

a label maker has been a life saver for this room and for labelling motorcycle parts 😀 spiders are our friends!!
