"how much money do you have?" "1 week" 💀 sasuga elite miko😂
to be fair, your honor, time IS money
To be fair, Miko didn't understand what the officer said
to be fair, it could also be interpreted as Miko having enough allowance for 1 week of living expenses, your honor
I believe the custom fellow thought she said 1 won with some kind of rare Korean accent.
"Do you know how long we'll jail you for causing a scene during the immigration process?"
"....One week!!"
Customs didn't realize they were dealing with an Elite.
Elite language
They had seen her 'rooftop Miko videos' they fear her.
Miko's impression of a guy speaking English is hilarious
Reminds me of fried fish and JDON MY SOUL 😅
"ahlub lub blub blu bleb bleeeh"
Animal crossing villager talk
To be fair, if the Japanese customs didn't speak English to incoming travelers we'd all be stuck there too.
What? Ive never needed to talk to an agent while entering Japan?
@@JAFrk How nice for you. When I went last Oct I passed through 3 checkpoints and talked to at least 4 people total. Not a lot of talking mind, it was all very efficient and quick partly because I had filled everything in online ahead of time so I could just scan a QR code along with my passport. Other people who had filled in paper slips on the airplane were standing around having lengthier chats.
@@JAFrk only fingerprinting and paperwork
@@JAFrk It was only going back home to the US that they asked the purpose of my visit. "I live here?"
Tbh, the customs officer I dealt with when visiting Japan didn’t really speak Japanese or English to me - he just muttered something under his breath, put his head in his hands when I tried to follow the instructions I thought he gave, then CONTINUED to refuse to explain anything to me. He was by far the rudest person I interacted with in Japan in my entire trip.
and this is why you always have the guide go with them. Customs loves throwing curveballs just to make sure the person truly understands the questions being asked.
The "How much money" curveball in particular has apparently been a favorite of customs for over 100 years now lol.
The customs: "How much money do you have?"
Miko: "One week."
The customs: "How much money do you have?"
Flare: "No!"
And this is why they really needed Lui to translate for them.
Lui goes on to say that the customs guy tells her "Definitely don't let her (Miko) out of your sight. She will get lost."
It’s like they just went straight to the practical exam instead of going to the oral exams first 😂
Most customs are specifically hired for multilinguals, especially with languages where most of the native speakers dont know how to speak english (eg. Japanese, arabic, most SEA languages, etc). They had to to know people are bullshitting them.
It is also fairly common for customs to actually *pretend* like they dont know their language if they find you a bit sus, in hopes of catching you lacking.
So korone and lui passed the vibe check but Miko and flare didn’t? That’s fckin hilarious-
@@illyachan5901 former delinquent and finger cutting doog? yeah fine go on through
shrine maiden and elf? they might cause trouble
...though to be fair it is Miko so....yeah trouble is probably accurate
lol not California TSA barley speaks English and its their native language
Immigration at Honolulu would actually use Japanese to ask questions in cases like this, but I'd imagine that wouldn't be the case at LAX lol.
Lax is trash anyway. I don't know why they would visit there of all places lol
@@NicoDoesLP L take
@@StablyUnmental definitely not lol
@@NicoDoesLP Family is definitely an answer. Friends too. Can't do anything if that's where they live.
How is this guy asking why would anyone visit LAX?! As if it’s a tourist attraction lol
There are tons of cute animations came because of vtuber industry man i love it.
Thanks for anotha one!
I know the amount of animators I've subscribed too because of vtubers is like nearing 20.
Miko trying to recreate Total Recall is truly peak elite
The original one?
really depends on which border agent you get. some are bored or something and try to catch you tripping over your own answers, some just bang out the questions fast and let you go.
I know it's different bc I'm a returning citizen but there have been occasions where literally no questions were asked. Just looked at my passport and said welcome home. Said we stopped doing the declaration papers as well. Really threw me for a loop.
"How much money do you have?" has apparently been a trick question in USA customs for over 100 years now...
It reminds me of the Total Recall scene where Arnold is wearing the fake head that has a recorded voice that only can say "Two Weeks" so every question gets "Two weeks" as the answer until the head has a meltdown and explodes.
Miko is adorable.
I agree
This was so much fun to watch. Good job! :)
Obviously Miko meant she has enough money for 1 week. Sasuga Elite Miko!
Thankfully Lui-nee was there to translate the Elite language xD
MikoChi saying “one week” reminds me of that scene from Total Recall.
The original one?
For me it reminded me of The Ring which is "Seven Days." which is also "One Week" lol
Mikochi 😭😭😭😭😭
OMG mikochi so funny 😂😂😂
"How much money do you have?" is a question I got asked at the US/Canada border, too! They want to make sure you won't get stranded!
What Miko mean was "I have enough money to live for one week without breaking a sweat"..... 😂
The police officer was not prepared for elite english.
Love how she was teying to scan her passport 😂
Thank you. I'm very happy.
omg the 1 week part was so cute xd 1:24
So lucky of them that Lui loves travelling. She sure has tons of experience. 😆
The animations just keep getting better, and they are still very cute!
Thank you!
Next time someone asks me how much money I got I'm tellin' them one week!
I'm glad I know English since every airport uses it
This is why the bilingual members are so valued
Cute animation! I recently went to Japan for the first time, and had a similar experience as Miko lol
Thank you. I'm glad you came to Japan.
I’d say they should use a translator app, but I don’t know if the apps know Elite language yet
thank you for animating this
Thanks for watching!
thanks for the clip!
Thank you
Didn't know customs would ask about your financial situation too
People planning to work illegally sometimes come with little or no money, and if you bring over a certain amount you have to declare it. I guess they catch people trying to launder money and or evade taxes by moving large amounts of cash across boarders.
@@stumblewater oh, that makes sense. Thanks cap 👍
Freedom lady patta patta!!
Miko staging a reenactment of the scene from Total Recall.....
Good thing Lui Lui went with them.
"Passport please"
"One week."
"Security, I'm being threatened".
deep breathing* seven... days...
Customs officer: How much money do you have?
Miko: One week
Customs officer: Naruhodo, time is money I see
its a good thing Miko didnt bring out her Elite english and say FAQ YOU xD
of course she didnt understand
poor guy couldnt speak ELITE english
That was an interestingly funny answer to "how much money do you have?" 🤣
So unlucky. The Immigration agents decided to ask one of the "Hard" questions.
Sakura Miko multipass!
This is on Cover. They shouldn't even let Miko go to the kitchen without staff present to assist.
This was a personal vacation made by Korone and Lui, then Miko and Flare asked if they could go with them. It's not a company trip so this was 100% on them and I'm guessing the girls also would prefer to travel with just them so they can fully enjoy the trip.
Miko is really adorable ngl.
1:16 The language of the elite gods.
Cute animation!
Thank you😊
This is a mood. I feel you, Miko.
But also, why would they ask about how much money they had?
It's just power trip most of the time because in my country almost everyone gets that treatment in immigration, sometimes it's for reasons people have told me that some are for security or whatever it is.
@@wyethleon I guess it's been a while since I've left the U.S.
Because it's generally kind of illegal to bring too much money into a country without declaring it.
You have to declare if you bring over 10k in cash, so it's a very common question.
@@TheRover87 oh, I see.
Miko ELITE
Always write down these information on paper, translated, when you need to enter a foreign country but you don't know the language.
I love Miko
The timestamp in the original video, should be 6:26 ?
Yes. I'm clipping the conversation that took place.
@@Techitechimanbo_EN However, I click the original video link in the description, the timestap is 21:39, not 6:26
I mean, it’s not exactly a wrong answer. When talking about financial advice some people say you need at least 6 months of savings. Divide that into 24ish parts and you have 1 week of money.
Japan really needs to up its English education it seems lmao
Sasuga Elite English
So cute!!!
This is not a joke.
Recently, due to the weakening of the yen, there has been an increase in young women going abroad for "job".
Many of them are being arrested or denied entry upon arrival.
Miko and Flare are suspected of coming for that kind of "job".
There was a significant possibility of being denied entry.
This is hilarious lol
Their guide didn't accompany them from Japan?
They probably got there before them, to prepare or they were somewhere else at that moment
No since this is a personal vacation, cover does not provide them guides.
@@Koronium They're top talents in Hololive & rich af. They can hire their own guides. I asked why their guide didn't accompany them during this custom event
@@Meonium個人的な休暇なら、税関チャレンジも1つの思い出になっていいかもしれませんね。
@@Meonium they probably don't see the need to as Lui is there and this is a vacation, not a company trip.
If you would like to go on a vacation in a different country you would not want to see company employees along the way
👍So cute!
Sasuga Elite Miko 😂
Just travel through the southern border. It's wide open.
and miko still claims shes able to speak english, while not beeing able to understand the most basic shit
They should've come through the southern border. They could just come right in.
み俺恥
Sasuga maou sama
that is why in every country you visit, you should know how to say "I dont understand" or "I only understand basic or little english"
Why they ask how much money they have? That's private and a very rude question...
That's a normal and very appropriate question that is routinely asked when entering a country. How else do they know if you have enough money for the trip you claim to be taking?
They're asking because you aren't allowed to bring more than 10k cash over the border without declaring it.
Don't they use Google Translate?
Nobody thought to use Google Translate? :/
Oh god California. I hope they had a guide
You could have just crossed the border basically and why would you go to cali very strange poop is literally in the streets with needles and open drug use lol.
Japan Custom and Immigration always has multiple language card to ask travelers that come in. It seems that California dont bother to learn other language except English.
I remember seeing this somewhere: the average number of languages that a US citizen is able to speak is 0,6 (not precise, but sure it's
@@tranminhnhat3353That's obviously a joke -_- I really hope you don't think half of Americans are unable to use human speech.
Airports are required to have translators on hand in general so I’m sure the girls could have worked it out even if none of them were able to understand English. California has a very large number of non-English speakers and there is a lot of multilingual signage, Japanese is not one of the more common languages though.
@@NotASummoner English and human speech aren't quite the same. I'd say the average US citizen knows a bit of both, but neither completely, hence 0.6. :D
They're not going to have every employee able to speak every language. They call in interpreters as needed. If it hadn't gotten resolved quickly, they would have called for one.
What country asks how much money you got? It almost sounds like theyre checking how much money they got so they know who to mug later.
There's a legal limit on how much cash you can enter the US with without declaring (I think like $10000). If you're over you have to declare it at customs.
@@goosezero9101 Oh yeah, thats true. I havent been to the us in a while, but most of the other countries Ive been to in the last decade dont usually ask this question at immigration. They just have sign boards that say what youre allowed and not allowed to bring in (sometimes also being just straight up cash above a certain value).
@@goosezero9101 I figured it'd be the opposite. If you'd have no money, you're not welcome in the US since the country doesn't want poor people in.
Pretty much all countries ask this. People planning to overstay illegally and people entering for certain types of criminal activity often won't have adequate income that they can explain. It's typically stricter when applying for a regular visa instead of a visa waiver, but people entering on visa waivers are routinely asked as well. If you wanted a student visa for Japan, for example, they would ask for your bank statements.
@@brandonkoh8361 I'm guessing you're American. Immigration asks fewer financial questions to Americans in most cases, because Americans don't typically have a motive to become illegal aliens in other countries.
See the problem is they decided to go to California.
If you know, you know.
Man american immigrations always asked for money huh. My cousin went to NY when she got student exchange. 😂😂
But a month ago i went to japan, the only things they asked is do i have return tickets. Well i do. 😂😂
Legally, you have to declare if you're bringing more than $10,000 into the country. Part of America's forever-"War on Drugs" I think.
Typically, they ask if you're traveling from a poorer country to a richer one. So Japan pays careful attention to the finances of people coming from the Philippines, but doesn't care much about Americans. An American would typically only need to provide bank statements and such to Japanese immigration when applying for a student visa or something like that. Americans pretty much get waived through for 90 day visa waivers.
Yeah, no, the english language being the dominant language internationally. Youre expected to be fluent in it. Because, foreign translators are horrible in some U.S airports
Once again, miko is lucky she chose being a vtuber.
It was actually an elite answer. Elite Miko money is 1 week long. Wait, what?
"Enough money for one week!"
Sasuga Elite English!
Multipassport. Sakura Miko.
