okay, a few things i loved
1) your transitions! the hat? the way snufkin turns and it’s him walking out of moomin valley? poetic cinema.
2) snufkin’s grin when he’s standing at the window??? he’s so smitten! i’m weak!
3) moomin running down the hill so fast that he stumbles??? cute cute cute!
4) their lil dance!! dancing kings, young and sweet, only *mumbles*teeeeeeen!!
5) moomin grabbing snufkin’s hat. that’s all.
6) them holding hands. i’m gay.
and, overall, you just have a good feel for beat and how to show it in animatics and art, which is very fun to watch. also, i feel like most moomin fan art focuses on moomin’s pov. which is totally fine and often stellar, but i love that you chose to look at how snufkin feels about moomin instead of the other way around. this was a good animatic and i’ve watched it like five times.

Jamie Woolley You did a great job showing that! I absolutely agree that Snufkin’s feelings are a little more subtle and he doesn’t portray them as openly, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t strong or there! In conclusion: Snufkin is gay and he loves one (1) moomin.

I watched this video and went down a moomin rabbit hole and now I’m four episodes into moomin valley and I’m literally so invested I didn’t even watch the original moomin series as a kid or anything but it’s so wholesome I love it so much thank you for introducing me to it

Scarcely has there ever been a friendship more romantic and wholesome than that of Moomin and Snufkin. I can't help but cry every time I see something of them together; they are so sweet, whether you see them as friends or more. This tribute was particularly beautiful.

Snufkin was the person who made me accept that I was trans because I thought I was too quiet and effeminate to be a boy but then I saw that he was far more shy than I was and that made me feel seen
This is the same reason I am a transwoman, haha! /lh
Seeing a lot of myself in Snufkin made me realize that even with an androgynous voice, it doesn't matter because I get to be who I want to be at the end of the day.
Moomin is such a loving story and cartoon. Forever will love both. Tove would be so proud. /gen

The Moomins aren't very well known in Brazil, so I remember first reading about them in a graphic novel by Pénélope Bagieu (Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World). The book tells the stories of many incredible women, and Tove was one of them. The illustrations were very cute, and Tove's story was specially beautiful. She put pieces of her life in her work, and even created Too-Ticky, a character modelled after Tuulikki, her wife/life partner. Remembering her story, I teared up watching the video. It's such a lovely tribute, you did a great job!

Honestly just, my utmost compliments to you on this absolutely beautiful piece of animation, you've made something that expresses such pure, genuine, and raw emotion in the best of ways and does so more eloquently and gracefully than most big budget animations i've seen in a long while. This is truly so evocative despite, and dare i say partly because of, it's wonderful simplicity. You accomplish such a distinct and wonderful vibe in such a seemingly-simple way, and honestly it's fantastic.
Now if you'll excuse me i'm going to be playing this on a loop and sobbing because this is so goddamned fantastic and sweet (and it makes me think of my girlfriend, which only makes it even more sweet to me fghgfdlk)

As a person who read all the Moomin nicks and watched the 1990’s series( better that the 2019 version) , I thought that this animation projected the same feeling Tove Jansson ( the creator of the moonins) would have wanted. She actually based her self as kinda Moomin and her male lover Atos was the inspiration for Snufkin. Moomin and Snufkin definitely have a relationship and Tove Jansson wrote it that way( btw I am Finnish! )
