    I am shooting with the R6 for photos and R6 mkii for video.... I started with the M50 mk ii 2 years ago when I did your course.... I miss that little guy. I think pound for pound the M50 has the best photo quality money can buy. If I only shot photos and didnt do video I would still be using the M50!!! I started part time, and now I am making 6-9K per week and still a one man show.... Thanks Eli, never would have done it without your program!!

      @richryanphotography The lens in the budget kit (canon ef-m 11-22mm) doesn't have the 1m to infinity manual focus setting that Eli showed in a previous video. How did you focus with that to get a similar result?

    I'm picking up starter level gear, Canon M50 Mark II with the 15-45 zoon lens, Insta 360 One X2, and a cheap learner drone and a tripod from Amazon. Learning to fly the drone now and trying no to crash.

    • @richryanphotography
      @richryanphotography 8 месяцев назад +3

      the 15-45 zoom wont be wide enough. you need the 11-22 because the M50 is a crop sensor. The 15-45 is equivalent to about a 24-70mm lens. Thats just not wide enough.

    +1 to the Slik/Benro setup. I've shot about 1,100 listings with this setup myself over the last two years. The Slik is as good as the day I bought it. The Benro head is starting to show signs of wear but still getting the job done. I really should pick up a new one to have on hand when this one goes, so thanks for the reminder!
    I started my business 12+ years ago with a used Canon T2i and I "splurged" on a EFS-10-22 lens...still all in for under $1K at the time...Upgraded to full frame about 3 years ago (Canon 6D) and replaced that a few months ago with an R6, which has really been a game changer for me. I shoot mostly Real Estate, but I also shoot yachts and I have my eye on the new RF 10-20 which will give a lot more FOV than my current Sigma 14-24 for those tight spaces, not to mention that it will lighten up my gear bag!

    Hi Eli!! Really helpful video! You know me (I’m the guy with the CAMERA SETTINGS website) so I obviously really enjoy gear, HOWEVER I’m SUPER budget conscious so I wondered if you would be able to review a couple of ideas I have (one is simple, one more complex) and I realize each of the ideas may be for different business approaches:
    IDEA PART 1: “Standard” Real Estate Photos
    As I said I’m super budget-conscious, but I no longer have any cameras (both cameras I had were M4/3 Micro Four Thirds and they both received damage because of Viltrox speed boosters) but I still have the lens I used, a Nikon-mount Tokina 11-16 2.8. On Micro Four Thirds it needed a .71x focal reducer to be wide enough, but now that I can’t or won’t use those, I have to move up to a larger sensor. I’m noting the $500 or less price range I’m looking at now includes the 1.5x crop sensor Sony a6500 (a good, very popular camera) which not only does good stills but has IBIS which makes the video capabilities really good (can use without a gimbal, or less of one at times) and it would fit the Tokina 11-16 lens, with an adapter, but it would be manual focus (which you mentioned would be okay for some people, if they had a photo background).
    IDEA PART 2: “Deluxe” Real Estate Photos (Non-Wide Angle)
    The short version is, with the same camera (Sony a6500) there’s a TILT/SHIFT adapter I can get for $123 US and at 16mm (only at 16mm) the lens creates an image circle that covers a full-frame sensor, and I could shoot VERTICAL PANOS which I would stitch together, to create a “non-wide-angle” final image (actually, it’s still wide angle, but a bit less which makes the final image look more realistic…no trapezoidal windows and doors). This process will cost more (time and money) because it requires extra steps during the editing process, but it gives me something to offer clients that want their photos to be a bit different than most of the others.

    Hi there, I own a Nikon D5500, I am having issues, getting tha bracketing photos for HDR merge. I found out the only way to make it take the 3 photos on a row is to set manually a self timer every time I want to take a picture, if not doing so Y have to manually press the shutter buton three times... It's anoying and not practivcal at all, maybe there is somethinelse I shoud config.
    The other thing is to know what wide angle lens ypu recommend for that nikon d5500 body, on a budget.
    Thanks in advance!

      Okay so I don't know if this will help you. I would also ask another real estate photographer as I'm just getting started but you may want to check which one has a Remote Identification Module (RID). The mini 4 pro (and I think the mini 4) both have it, but I'm not too sure about the Air. I got the DJI Mini S 2E (as was mentioned in the video) and I found out that it doesn't have RID. I can either get a module and put it on the drone or get a new drone. I really hope that helps! It's not just passing the test and being able to fly, I guess. Again, ask Eli or another real estate photographer

    Having shot for many years and used every brand and size sensor here is my take. If you do HDR for all your shots you can use anything. If you want the most dynamic range and low noise you need to shoot full frame. I use a Nikon D750, the files are easy to manipulate, I rarely use HDR, I shoot some shots without a tripod at iso 10,000 and they still come out Great! I found that bracketing in a 1 stop 5 shot burst allows me to pick the best exposure of the 5 to work on. The big thing I found out from the 750 is I don't have to work as hard in post to get the results I want. FYI Darren Miles in FL has gotten over 300,000 shots out of his 750's.
