Genuinely so proud of Abbie for advocating for herself & staying despite the hospital wanting to send her home. Ik that can be a tough thing to do. 🥰 Also, all the good & healing vibes!! 💖❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍💖
That shouldn't even be an issue. If surgery is involved, especially one triggered by an infection/inflammation, they should've monitored EVERYTHING. I mean, I'm no doctor, but even I could tell she was running a fever in the "before" video when she was still pre-op, cause she looked flushed and her eyes were a tad glassy. Anyways, I hope she has a speedy and smooth recovery.
The liability thing is so frustrating. She has a complication from surgery, they happen. It doesn't mean the surgery went wrong or anyone did anything wrong to be sued over, it just means that cutting a human abdomen open and taken pieces out is complicated. There's nothing wrong with admitting that, and tiptoeing around it just makes them seem untrustworthy and does not instill a sense of confidence in their knowledge.
Hi! Nursing student here :) Definitely having a fever is a concern. The WBC level was taken into consideration as it should.. but it is also normal for some to have WBC increase or remain where they are at for a little time. The WBC "could still think" there is an inflamed appendix there and are still in protection mode! Through time the WBC should become normal again :) Glad to see she is going home :) prayers from PA for everyone❤
Reminds me of the time I spent in the hospital after my C-section. The doctor wanted to keep me one more day but asked me how many days my insurance covered. My response: I don’t care about what my insurance covers, I want to stay until you believe it is safe for us to leave. Good job for sticking up for yourself!!
I had complications after my emergency gallbladder removal and the treated me like such an inconvenience. The state of our Healthcare system is critical. I'm glad everyone is feeling better.
Same. The surgeon left on vacation after mine and when they couldn’t control my pain and called him to change meds he refused stating that it went ‘normal’ so he was treating me as he would everyone. It wasn’t resolved all day. I don’t know if he caved or the nurses got around him but someone finally managed to give me something different that worked. Weeks later at my follow up he said it was unfortunate that it happened but ‘everyone is different’. I told him I was glad he realized that and wished he’d believed that the day of the surgery instead of letting me suffer all day. He left the room and never came back.
I'm sorry that happened! I had my gallbladder out in 2020 and before it i had an ERCP/endoscopy. The nurse wanted to test me for covid coz i had a fever & sore throat 🤦🏻♀️ but i got upset and stood my ground coz I just had a camera down my throat! That's why i was coughing lol
you and abbie are clearly made for each other in the way you react to and handle hard situations and are so dedicated to being there for each other, love yall!
I am so deeply sorry you both dealing with this. here is the healing thoughts and prayers. you are both so strong. things will get better hugs and loves to both of you.
So sorry you’re dealing with this. You have every right to be frustrated, especially because it sounds like the doctors aren’t admitting that they messed up. Advocate for yourselves, write the bad review if you feel it’s needed, heck sue if you think it’s warranted. Also don’t feel like you need to upload, take some time. At least don’t give us vlogs if you need time.
Here's the deal, her surgery was laparoscopic, and if the appendix was truly inflamed which would make it acute, no longer chronic (I had the same issue), they might've messed something up; in these cases it's better to go in the classic way, cause it's easier to see and deal with the problem. Mine was so big it resembled a thick and long sausage and was tilted and hiding behind stuff, it would've been tricky to take out laparoscopically; my bff from HS had hers removed like Abbie's... allegedly, cause not 2 years later she had to go under the knife and have it removed accordingly, and had I not seen the scars, from both interventions, I wouldn't have believed her. Yes, it's less invasive, but the complications aren't worth it. If someone's gonna have appendicitis, I wish them to have my experience, which was awesome. I felt pampered and no pain.
I hope you guys got more answers! It’s so frustrating. I’m so glad she has you with her! I was alone in the hospital once and checked myself out. The put a note in my chart that I was difficult. Hahaha! Ever since, someone always stays with me.
I am Sending you and Abby and All your peeps and the babies so much Peace Love Light Blessings and Healthy Healing ❤️🩹 vibes your way!!! God Bless ❤❤❤!!!

As someone who works in health care .. sorry I'm in the usa... HEALTH SCARE... Please ask for an itemized bill!!!!! What may have been $10,000 even after insurance will magically become half if not less... not to mention sadly hospitals are not at the same standard as they once were as it's about the $$$... not actual patient care.... literally in orientation with hartford healthcare in CT. We call patients CUSTOMERS! The hell... this isn't a deli shop! I wish and hope the best for you two! I too have had my appendix removed. Thankfully wasn't as bad. Sending the love to yall!!!
Abby very clearly had an infection and the fact that they literally treated an infection and refused to call it that is CRAZY. Ask for her chart and documents it should say on there. Unless they even fudged the documentation.
Sometimes your WBC can remain elevated, even after the infection starts to subside. But staying is the smart thing to do. Unfortunately this can & does happen after surgery. With that being said; if this continues and this hospital "can't figure it out" go to another facility. Because you're not wrong, it may have been a mishap from surgery.
If she has staph infection they are gonna try not to tell you because that means its most likely there fault. My step mom died from staph after a C section so im really glad you took her to the ER right away ❤
Lol I sent that to her in Instagram dm. Ideas for Abbie and ideas for caregiver who still needs to eat and if sleeping over what you need and if stuck in er all night where to get the coffee. My ex was in the er so much I had a “go bag” for that time and filled it with shelf stable stuff like protien bars, Starbucks coffee in a bottle, kept a charger and ex had her go bag in case she got admitted that had long charging cord for her phone, appropriate plugs, extra undies, hairbrush and other odds and ends like chapstick, etc. it’s basically like a maternity go bag minus the baby gear. Being the caregiver sucks as much as being the patient in it’s own way.
I hope Abby feels better soon and gets to go home very soon. I’m sorry that she had to spend New Year’s in the hospital. I really hope she recovers and feels better as soon as possible. You two are an amazing pair. Happy 2024 to you both. I hope the rest of January goes smoother for your both.
So glad you were there to advocate for Abby!!! I've had to for my mom many times & once I was told to get out & I said no sir/ma'am! I'm my mom's legal advocate so you cannot tell me to leave! Needless to say my mom was moved from that place & won't be going back anytime soon! Get well soon Abby!!!!
i had my appendix out with an emergency surgery in australia (our hospitals are huge and crazy) its such a shitty recovery with the fevers and rashes… thoughts and atheist prayers!!!
Doctors just love keeping their secrets… my daughter who was premature was in the neonatal unit and I went in one morning and she had been moved beacuse of a temp, so she gets all the tests and the doctor calls me in and is like “well the hood news is it’s not sepsis so it’s probably just viral “ To which my response was “ WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT SEPSIS?!No one told me that sepsis was a freaking option!!” Main point my babs was fine and doctors need to work on communication! Love to you all and fingers crossed you get back to your own bed soon!❤
They're probably calling it a random fever because they don't have an absolute answer, they'll need diagnostics to give an answer before making an official diagnosis
I hope she heals quickly! That is so frustrating medical professional wont admit that she clearly has a fever due to an infection ughhh... but all that matters is she gets better fast!!
Being in the hospital over a big holiday. I myself have spent new years in the hospital because of surgery. You just gotta make the most of what you can.
Its so common to have an infection or problems after sugery. Thats why i get annoyed America sends people home so fast. I was a week post op packing to go home and ended up having emergency surgery for an infection.
Hospitals are a major cause of staff infections. I love you Gorgeous Rachel! I'm so glad that Abbie is feeling better. Thank you so much for your video. I can tell you are frazzled. January 30? January 31? You don't make such mistakes except when you are exhausted. You need some rest.

Rachel time traveled to the end of this month! Hoping Abbie got to come home. Appendicitis is no fun but not knowing why she has a fever or her white blood cells going up is scary. Positive thoughts and vibes ladies
Was her appendix otherwise normal?!? Meaning did it have any masses or abnormalities or was the appendix weeping with mucus /infection or fluid?!?!? I say this to say I was horribly misdiagnosed with a very rare form of appendix cancer that ultimately spread through my entire abdomen. Oringally I was told it was just my appendix rupture.Anytime I hear appendicitis I always find the need to share so someone else doesn’t go through what I do. Might I add its incurable. And it’s extremely important to diagnose early. I don’t like your hospital or Dr’s. If they send her home again and she spiked another fever, please take her to a different hospital. Obviously she has an infection from the surgery with the high white blood cells and fever and she could have MRSA or some other infection that she should be on a few weeks of antibiotics. Pray they didn’t leave something in her when they stitched her up. The way there treating her is making me really uncomfortable as someone who worked at a hospital.
Rachel is so over this month she’s already time traveled to the end of January.
@zytwn Honestly I don’t blame her🥺🥺🥺
At least this happened at the end of 2023 so hopefully they can start a new 2024 going better from now on...❤❤❤❤❤

Absolutely. Do not trust that they are so much more worried about covering their asses rather than figuring out what is actually wrong.
Still praying and I'm glad we got an update, we love you HUGE and hope you get to go home tomorrow 😊❤
Sending all the good vibes!! Get well soon Abbie!! ❤
Sure hope Abbie is getting better. You are just the sweetest girlfriend! I just loved how you made a New Year’s Eve celebration at the hospital 🥰.

I like how we went from the end of January to the beginning of January. 😂😂 good job Rachel 😂😂😂😂
I also love that we’re at the end of January already lol

Wrong month Rachel. Lol😅
Don't feel bad I'm still in the hospital and I don't know how long I'll be here for been here for 5 days now
I don’t like your hospital or Dr’s. If they send her home again and she spiked another fever, please take her to a different hospital. Obviously she has an infection from the surgery with the high white blood cells and fever and she could have MRSA or some other infection that she should be on a few weeks of antibiotics.
