That’s why they use old software that has all the security measures in place ,to maintain a
Secure network if they use new software they would have to develop it years in advance to make sure that it is Secure for use later on in the future.

programmers really should stop avoiding insecure functions like sprintf (use snprintf), malloc (use calloc) and etc to avoid vulnerabilities.

@@name-wi4ee what do you mean? sprintf has no regard for buffer length and we can accidentaly create buffer overflow. malloc doesn't clear out the memory and prorammers forget to and calloc ensures that we create properly sized array.
