Once you get the hang of it, one handed is the way to go, it’s good exercise for the hand. Then when you can manipulate it without thought and find yourself actually idly fidgeting with it, try your aluminum one again. If it is solid aluminum, you’ll find it’s really quite therapeutic having the weight and feel of the metal, though you may have to practice a bit again to get used to it. I have an aluminum one that I use at home, and a mini plastic one that I take on the go. Also, if you truly are a fidgeter, I recommend looking into the Ono Roller. Happy fidgeting!

my man I've been practicing this for a few months and I think I half that time with one hand. I didn't know anyone else did it haha.

Might i suggest you with actual rubiks cubes it might interest you.. i can currently do 3x3x3 up to 5x5x5
Rubiks cube? Yep, I've done those. My record was 2:30, not fast but not too bad.
