- Опубликовано: 18 окт 2024
- I asked every hiker who would talk to my camera what tips or advice they have for anyone wanting to thruhike. All interviews come from the Arizona Trail and Pacific Crest Trail in 2021 but advice also applies to Appalachian Trail hikers or any other long hike like the Continental Divide.
Hope you enjoy the video!
Happy Trails,
Kodak

Loving these interviews man! Too bad I didn't catch up to you going SOBO and meet face to face, but it was great chatting. Cinematography looks great, seems like the A7C worked out well for you?
Thanks man! Maybe we’ll cross paths on another trail. Yeah, I love the A7c.
As far as the A.T. goes, don't plan more than what you might accomplish today. I don't count the miles, just the days I get to spend in the woods. Thru hikers are 99.9% great people, different in a good way, so the social aspect is incredibly satisfying.
What a great video! Well done. Nicely put together. Mew follower here. Crow✌️
Thanks Crow! Appreciate it ✌️
My tip would be don't think you're an expert because you've thru hiked one or multiple trails. Some people run tens of thousands of miles every year and live outside full time. For thousands of years up until this point, that was the standard mode for our species. We're incredibly privileged that our ancestors got us to the point where most people can have the luxury of forgetting day to day requirements for survival in a natural environment and learn how to live outside all over again. While on vacation. My first thru was a great experience for me, but its like scratching your finger nail on the surface of an iceberg and saying you now know the iceberg.
If you’re saying, maintain a beginners mindset, I agree wholeheartedly! I live outside full-time (vanlife) and, while I might not run much, I hike and cycle tens of thousands of miles each year. I am always learning and improving with each day/trip. As for the iceberg analogy, I think if I’m scratching it (hence in the water with it), I would say I know it very well! 🥶🤪
That's crazy you interviewed dirt bag I met him in New Mexico on the CDT not too long before we met. Great video btw keep it up:)
Hahah, small world! Thanks man! Where are you now? Back in SE Asia?!!!
@@RyanKodakBrown yea talked my little brother into working for me instead of college and told him if he did I'd take him anywhere in the world.....he chose Thailand.
