Nowadays, NEVER stay committed to one employer. You may be loyal to them but “they” and their HR Dept are NOT loyal to you the employee.

Having a BSN/RN opens the world up to so many possibilities. Its probably one of the most diverse degrees you could get as it opens the doors to a variety of different opportunities and places to work.

@@thanos34362 Reality of life is that you have to have a job. 99.9% of people do not have a career. The difference being a job is something you wouldn't do involuntary, IE if they didn't pay you, would you still do it?
If you want to benefit from society you have to contribute, which means doing things you dont want to do. This is called being an adult. You are lucky if you find something you love to do, but the vast majority of people will never find that. That's ok though, we need people to do hard jobs and we can't expect everyone to love the hard jobs.

That's a long time for modern nursing. They attrition rate is exceptionally high.
According to a 2022 NSI National Healthcare Retention report, the turnover rate for newly graduated nurses is 31.7%. Other research suggests that:
18-33% of newly licensed registered nurses quit the profession within the first year
Up to 56% of new nurses leave their job within the second year
Up to one-third of all new nurses leave an organization within the first two years
Staying with bedside nursing for 5 years is a damn veteran at this point. Let alone the fact that conditions have only deteriorated more don't COVID with higher acuity and patient loads.
Further, the 10,000 hour "rule" is a pop science interpretation of the actual studies.
"A provocative generalization,” is what Anders Ericsson calls the 10,000 hour rule. And it was Ericsson’s research on expert musicians that Gladwell cites as a basis for the rule. Ericsson says the rule is an oversimplification, and in many ways, an incorrect interpretation of his research. The 10,000 Hour Rule: Catchy and easy to remember, but on some pretty shaky scientific footing.
