- Filmed this on a Monday on the Kings Birthday of URM’s Euro 3 Acco/JP5, URM 864 previously a Warringah cleanups unit now servicing the offshore collections from Scotland Island as well as a mixture of other public and private wharfs around Pittwater. Quite a cool and unique system In place here, with a barge bringing all the bins over to the mainland cargo wharf 2 times a week during most of the year and 3 times during the summer period Definitely a good mix of bins with some older metal bins, and 240s from the old contract as well. Definitely an awesome truck, quite a fan of the blank white look compared to the newer URM signage. Good to see it still going in decent condition. Big thanks to the driver and barge operator for letting me film, stay tuned for the second part, showcasing the 240s getting collected as well as one of the sidearms on bottles.
Hope you guys enjoyed
Well done capturing something of the offshore work. I remember being told about this service back in the late 2000s and was keen to video it all back then, just never committed and got around to it. I wonder how long ago they put these steel containers in, they used to have 1.5m and 3m winch bins around the place. I reckon if anyone is going to use those steel 4-wheel bins, you need to have the right lifter set-up and buffer bar to empty them smoothly, not good how they freely swing over into the hopper and bounce on the lifter coming down. Didn't realise this old truck was still in action too, hadn't seen it in ages so thought it had been retired. I also know that champion bloke at the controls, used to be at URM when I was working there, cool to see he's still around.
Wow. I can't believe you get such great footage. Thanks for uploading!
Yeah thanks!
This is one of your best videos, and I am looking forward to Part 2. I have never considered how the island residents have their garbage and recycling collected, and your description has educated me today. You could have the best fail in garbo filming history if only one of the bins fell into the drink.😂 Fantastic video. Very well done 👏 👍
Haha thanks John, yeh quite an interesting and unique system.
@SlamminEagle you're very welcome 👍 I recently watched a video of yours from 11 years ago and I commented 😊
Those steel bulk bins look a lot like the ones we have over here in the UK
Yeah, definitely very similar
Wow that's an oldie shame they don't have a sl that old but still wonderful
Yeh, would be cool to see an SL the same age still running
Nice One atlas, incredible they still run an e3
Yeh cheers Ollie
Awesome video mate
Awesome video been waiting ages for this video! Is part 2 coming out next week?
Thanks mate! Not sure yet have some stuff scheduled already
wow is all I can say atlas, finally seeing these island runs on youtube is amazing! just wondering what side arms were out apart from the dennis?
Cheers mate appreciate it! Was definitely happy to get this on film. Only got the Dennis/Spak doing the bottles which will be coming in the future months, as well as this truck doing some 240s.
Did you film the sl, great vid btw
Yeah mate got bottles
