A quick update & a few new devices!

- This is just a quick update on where we're at with the delay in videos as of late. I've also recently managed to remove some Gent devices from a old college building that is due to be demolished, those devices consist of:
1x Gent Vigilon 6 Loop Fire Alarm Control Panel
1x Gent 72hour Battery Box
1x Gent Vigilon Repeater Panel
2x Gent 4 channel I/O modules
2x Gent S4-720 Heat sensors
1x Gent S4-715 Optical Heat sensor
1x Gent 3400 Optical Heat Sensor
1x Gent 3400 Heat Sensor
1x Gent 34800 MCP
3x Gent 34202 Sounders
1x Gent 34203 Sounder
1x Gent 3421 Sounder Base
3x Gent 24V Strobes
1X Esser wireless receiver.
I wonder if system test 25 will ever exist on this channel, it has been so long now have you quit?

Never seen one of those, looks like it was all wired in pyro too which is always (not) a pleasure to rip out! Some of the Gent systems about still are ancient!
My school has ripped off some detecters and a couple of them are really old ones and I might get hold some
I have seen one of those sounder bases in a building
ive seene about 30 in one place. The freeman hospital in newcastle has loads.
I’m pretty sure I have seen one in Bath Hospital
Chorley Hospital has a 3400 system too but hasn't got any base sounders
I love old Gent devices, would it be possible for you to set off the white horn shaped sounder?? Thanks

TheAlarmBoy they're quite high pitched. they have them in my school. they have the alternating tone but that's kind of the standard for gent devices
Well I'm not Matthew, but I'd like to hear one! They have them in my school but I've never heard one. I think the 34203s are white and the 34202s are grey???

I heard an interesting tone on a Vigilon system today, it was march time but with some piezo sounders (S3?) and some of the older combination detectors sounding together. I'm not too well up on Gent Model numbers since I've grown up around Protec systems and the fact that they seem to be a more expensive compared to their Protec counterparts.

Also, my school has a heat s-quad. Just one. All the rest are smoke detector sounder strobes, they don't do voice. You should connect all these devices to your system.
How did you manage to get stuff from a demolition site?
+FM60260 The company I work for were doing the electrical install in their new building. I had to nip into the old building to isolate the supplies ready for demolition, so the site manager said I could have what ever i could rip out before the end of the day!
forde52 I wonder if fire alarm companies themselves would let you have surplus equipment they would usually throw away.
+FM60260 more than likely, I have a guy I get some of my alarm panels from who does a similar thing!

If you can, hook the master alarms back up, at install the old 2511 sounder that MF9200 gave you, it sounds like 3:45.
I don't think addressable panels work with conventional sounders
+Matthew Jones They do! Most still have conventional sounder circuits on the panels. The GENT panels call them Master Alarm Circuits!

Yh i know my school have them in every classroom and corridor I think they have 34202 because they have got the fire alarm and school bell on there they make me jump out of my skin lol
they have them in classrooms? lol. in a block at our school they have a mixture between the gent 34770s and the horn style sounders.. there was a new part of the block built about 2009. at this point the squads had been introduced and were replacing older gent equipment. they carried on using the gent 34770 optical heat sensor sounders but didn't use the horn sounders. in some class rooms they use the heat detector sounders. corridors and stair ways have the horn style sounders but there is an it room that's tiny but for some reason they have 2 sounders in the room, dunno why lol. what year were these fire alarms and detectors made do you know? not really an expert on this stuff just a little interest. I hope they keep these alarms. there a lot better.
