This was a very good show--entertaining and also insightful about the team and its performance. Van de Sanden got FAR too much grief about her performance: I've rewatched all the WC matches and she was fine. It must be remembered that the Dutch played some /very good/ defensive teams in the group stage, and it simply was going to be more difficult to score than in Euro '17. As was noted on the show, the price of becoming a very good team that is taken seriously is that you will get more scrutiny. But this team got better as the tournament went along, and that is the mark of a great squad. I'm sorry Van Lunteren wasn't mentioned in this show--she was one of the best players for The Netherlands in the World Cup--a real warrior. She had an excellent tournament. I think the host missed one very important question: He did not ask Wiegman about her decision to play a unique formation and very defensively against the United States. The Netherlands are a ball control and attacking team, and it must have been somewhat difficult to play such a defensive/counter-attacking style in the final. I'm very curious to know if she would play that way again if The Netherlands and the U.S. were to meet in, say, the Olympics. In any case, great show, great tournament for the Dutch!

It's hindsight of course, we should have concentrated on a stronger midfield to counter the us domains there.
