As I write this my heart is broken. Chris, Zoe, Mick and everyone else who was privileged enough to have Grizzly as a part of your life, I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you Zoe and Mick for the love that I know you will give Chris while getting him through this. Chris, thank you for sharing Grizzly with us. My condolences and all my love to all of you in this time of great sorrow. And to Grizzly, your work and efforts will continue to touch those who watch the videos. Thank you for saving Chris. Words cannot describe how amazing you you have been. You will be missed. ❤
We're using this pan made of narra woods since early days in rivers of mindanao. We an indigenous panners in here we can prove that you are realy true. We can place 3 shovels in it and it floats sometimes 4. This wood withstands more decades with no cracks as long as you keep it in a cool dry places no direct to sunlight.
Chris...griz and yourself have done so much for me. This community. The mental health community. The true love of a man and dog i believe cant be matched we are hear for you and griz
Well done with the gold for the day. I agree with your comments regarding the shotgun pallets and water in the boots. I look forward to your next videos.
Hello Vo-Gus, I have also used a batea pan, took some time also to get used to it, but my favorite is the gold claw, (purple gold claw) works just as good and pans out so much faster! Very good video, brother!
Seeing grizzly just brought a tear to my eye and I should say more than one. you have my sympathy brother he was a great dog and a great companion and friend.
I went Friday for gold panning, I tried to work on the middle of the river, after a big rock, where the friction is happening (inspired by your last video). Dig - dig - dig and never reach the bottom. There was more than two feet of gravel. Tried on the bank and found my first Gold dust, hardly bigger than one hair. This boosted me, lol. If there is one, there is more !!! Returned yesterday and worked on the bedrock. It was fragmented and I did took off some rock pieces and carefully removed the clay that was there : I found a dozen of specks and my first picker ! Thank you for all the videos you made that help me in my quest.
I know a location where are minings pits, but these are a little far from the river, does this mean that I can find gold in the river too? I found a rock whit little silver shines
@@BVaqueroREMAX Yes, I would try that place. Dont forget that gold exist since the ice age ! For millions of years, ice and weather dispersed the gold everywhere around. Look in the heavyly stacked crevices in the bedrock of that river.
Out in the big wide world, you often see these pans, but atleast twice as big. The people who use them often stand almost chest deep in the water, and swirl them with straight arms in front of them.
Have you ever seen the Gold sucker that has the flappers in side ?? As you suck it in the tube a flapper opens there is a hose that comes off the side into a 5 gallon bucket when you push the plunger down it closes the flapper in the main tube and opens the side flapper sending the cons into the hose and on its why into the bucked . You want to X and couple bolts at the opening so it dont get stopped up from bigger rocks .
Wow that is some great gold Chris. I just found out that Grizzly is not well , I really really hope he pulls through, I can see how much he means to you he is an absolute legend of a dog. I hope whoever wins the detector donates it back to you to help cover the vet bills, well that is what i would do anyway. Best of luck mate and Grizzly will be in my thoughts ❤
And Chris took a while to remember. I've seen in older Asian man. Use one of those when I was younger. Talking the Batavia pan. When he got to the end he kind of did the same you would would the normal fan. Set free to slowly up and down like you normally would just to get the tips out and clean the pan of it. Good show brother
Good afternoon, Chris from the US. I have been going back to some of your old videos and I have been enjoying the vids. Keep up the good work. Happy hunting Dewey
Hey chris i used that pan here in south america we burn die pan first the used it we are getting the silver collor of it that way its easier for us t use and is not slippery for the gold
Thanks Chris, I was holding completely under from the start and was most likely a bit hard and fast on the motion. I got both the 350 & 400 pans so will play with both and see how I go. It's like anything in life, practice makes perfect👍
At 4:36, Grizzly once again poses for the camera, looking majestic as frig... Love good old dogs, and Grizzly is definitely a good boy. I still think you should do an April Fools episode where you let Grizz pick the rocks and clumps of dirt, and work those. Cheers. Edit: oh, and Chris, been meaning to suggest, if a Batea pan is a little too shiny, hit up the inner surface with some cold bluing like birchwood casey. Provides a good contrast without making it too dark.
another tip for the first time using a yabbie pump is to ensure the butterfly nut on the inside is tight... 20 mins lost finding the nut and putting it back together
I would suggest a tubular section in the bottom, or a depression because each time you seemed to have floaters well up the sides, eventually it will rust and become more usefull
Heard about Grizzly Chris... We both are sending prayers your way. We hope he pulls through! You and Grizzly are strong. Loads of love from the Aussie Digs Crew.
@@VoGusProspecting I do not know how I missed this episode Chris. I am so sad to hear of grizzly going to the Great Dog Park in the sky. Just ordered a pan. I hope it arrives within a week here in Tassie. I wanna show it off next weekend at a Prospectors and Miners Association Tasmania (PMAT - pmat.org.au) field trip. :)
You need to get a lil ring made up with tripod legs to set the pan on while your filling it. Haha if the makers real handy telescopic legs would be cool then you could extend them and sit on it while your panning out contents
Chris I am so very very sorry about The Griz. He was beautiful and magnificent and definitely loved the rocks, and what happened to him was wrong in every sense of the word. My condolences.
Hey Chris I noticed you had 3 add blocks totalling 6 ads in the first 10 minutes. Is that you or RUclips forcing that? I’ve never used an adblocker to support channels and help provide revenue but the increase in ads recently is making me rethink the strategy. I want to support channels but the advertising has got crazy in the last month.
I've been running Adblock plus for years now. I can handle an ad or two, but multiple ads on a 10 minute video is not on. Try doing a tarot card reading with multiple ad breaks in the middle, it just ruins it. Luckily likes and comments are "currency" too, and there's many other methods content providers can utilise to gain support.
I add 3 ads to a 20 minute video. One in the first minute one before the gold weigh and one in the middle. RUclips adds all the others, I cant stop them from doing it.

You can burn the pan. It will stean it black/blue. This makes it even stronger to.

Just a note, if you set the steel pan in a fire for 5-10 minutes it will darken the metal. Just like seasoning a traditional steel gold pan.
