'Cluster' of thunderstorms roll into Toronto amid prolonged heat wave in the city

- A special weather statement has been issued for Toronto this morning as a “cluster” of thunderstorms roll into the GTA.
In its weather advisory, Environment Canada warned of multiple “slow moving thunderstorms” that are capable of producing wind gusts of up to 80 km/h and heavy rainfall.
“Strong wing gusts can toss loose objects and break branches off trees,” the advisory read.

@@petervanhaeften It's true. If you think the 'COVID lockdowns' were bad, just WAIT till they start with the 'climate lockdowns' : " It's too hot to go outside" / "It's too cold to go outside" - You know they're coming - it's ALL about control, just like with COVID.
0.2 inches of rain is considered a lot. A hurricane has around 5 inches of rain so 2 inches would be approaching hurricane level. Measurement of rain is what is collected over the surface area. 2 inches may not sound like a lot in a cup of water but put 2 inches evenly across a large area like Toronto and that is hundreds of thousands of gallons of water. Considering water wouldn't accumulate evenly across that large areas but flow down valleys, hills etc into low lands that would mean 2 inches of rain would have sever flooding throughout the city.

Quit trying to scare us. Thunderstorms have been a normal occurrence since I can remember. All of a sudden it's like something out of this world. We finally start getting some warm weather, and it's a catastrophe. But one thing I might point out is, that with the vast amounts of housing subdivisions being built, to accommodate everyone from around the world, the heat that is generated from the sun shining on the roof tops, is sending vast amounts of radiated heat back up into the atmosphere. If anything is the cause of changes in weather, it is this.
Heat and humidity often bring thunderstorms and heavy rains. Just the way the weather works and always has. Quit being such weather drama queens !
