Aside from hearing what Mickey will select for Ascot on Saturday, the best investment for Champions Day might be 2 minutes of your time looking back at last year's results as a reminder of how unpredictable it can be!! Take Kinross's race: beaten by Art Power at 40/1. The year before Kinross won but there was a 150/1 poke in second place (altho completely wrong price cos that horse had heaps of Ascot form). Good morning Mickey. Galway on a Friday will be a nightmare. If you could persuade the young pair to catch a train to Athenry it would save you a lot of hassle. It's only a 15-20 ride from the centre of Galway. There's a train at 1.05,1.45, 2.25, 3.05, 4.30, 5.20 & 5.52.

A stupid comment re picking favourites. I couldn’t disagree more. String 3 together or even a double and it’s often job done if they land.
Yes anybody can pick a favourite but that’s totally different to picking a winning favourite.
The other saying I always cringed at was when the commentators say that an odds on shot “ isn’t a working man’s price” utter pants that is.
