Have this exact bike. Seeing it in videos does not do it justice. Need to see the 40th in person. Very much like the 80’s and early 90’s Kawasaki paint jobs.
Got this not too long ago. It was the last one left at the dealership. It's my first real bike and I couldn't be happier. It's classic yet showy styling compared with comfortable ergos, fun but comfortable power band. Can't wait to put many miles on this bike!
Got mine about a month ago and I also bought 2023 400 .. they do ride ride a little different but the 40th Anniv def stands out, love the paint work, they did a great job.
@@emadreviews I def will update once I get some more mileage on it, still in "break in" range(we all have our ways). I own 4 Ninja's 2005 250r, 2014 SE ABS 300, 2023 400, 2024 40th ABS 500 .. each has a different feel to it but I do enjoy them all.
I have this bike. To turn it on you start in the off position with the turning mechanism, then press in and turn gently to the right, and then once it gets caught you stop pushing in and continue to turn right. Its a bit difficult but after a day or so its easy to get used to.
Nice review, cool bike. On the Kawasaki TFT display, the options thankfully let you shut off the flashing Rev/gear change indicator in the options menu, by pressing both left and right buttons at the same time to bring it up. The MPG miles per gallon and trip meter are a great combination for getting the most out of the fuel tank's range.
The 40th looks far better in person. Had a 400, till it got wrecked. Got this 40th anniversary. Looks very much like the late 80’s-early 90’s Kawasaki paint jobs. This bike is much like the 400. Just more power down low and tech.
I had mine flashed and full exhaust. Dyno at 69 HP, and I outrun 500-650 of every make and model, except 4 cylinder bikes. That WHP at the bikes weight is crazy fast.
2:12 The Ninja 400 makes mid 40s HP not mid 30s. So although the Ninja 500 doesn't make a ton more peak HP, it does have a larger area under the curve on a dyno chart across the rpm range.
regardless, they should sell a 500cc bike not market one. people have the power, smart people control the products that are released. stupid people give the producer the control 🔥🔥
Buying mine this weekend (not this color, though)!! Hopefully… 🤞🏻 I may end up with something else but this one has the extra features I like and has been at the top of my list.
I agree that the SE is the best buy for the 500. I got a 500 ABS (not SE), and over the next few months have already put more money into modifying the ‘base’ ABS model to be more like the SE. Would’ve saved several hundred dollars by just buying the SE.
The keyless ignition wasn’t working because you were missing the first step. To turn the bike on you have to push the “key” in like a button (an orange light will turn on…it’s that little white dot on top left of keyless knob) and then turn the “key” to the right 😊
Yeah but you can’t keep it pushed in like a car. You have to push it to wake the bike up and then just turn it without pushing. Which was the confusing part to me.
The 40th is cool but looked too cartoony for me in person. I think the KRT looks amazing so I went with that. Also the red looks amazing but has way less visibility.
The SE looks amazing and it has all the extra bits I always add to a bike. That keyless system seems like junk though. Surely it shouldnt be able to spin around like that. Im thinking of getting a smaller bike and its either this or the triumph speed 400. Very different bikes but im really drawn to both for different reasons.
Welcome to the riding community! There isn’t really an age restriction with this bike. I’d say this particular bike has loud graphics. If that’s your style then by all means! It’s not as comfortable as a cruiser. But it’s lighter than most. Dealership support for me is number one. I’d recommend getting a bike that has a dealership near you. Ride safe!
I shopped 4 states, and it was literally 1000 to 1500 more to just buy the 2024 SE Anniversary 500. I got mine for $7150 out the door. I saw used 2023 400's for $5500 to 6000. Lmfao.
Almost the same, called about two weeks and they price it at $8,200+ but dude at the dealer told me to wait because they were gonna have a special sale for their anniversary, went in today, got the loan and picking her up Saturday for $7,000
So you just compared the HP numbers by using the 400s wheel and used the crank HP for the 500 , that’s not really fair lol these bikes make almost exactly the same HP numbers
the muffler looks bad let's be honest it's the one thing I don't like. TBH I should have gotten a diff bike but it just felt so right when I sat on it. Hm..
So sick of hearing this everyone acts like Kawasaki was the first one to do this fact is many many bike manufacturers do the same thing even small gokart engines do it 😂😂😂 get a life
Why O Why did Kawasaki fit keyless? It sucks!! Other than that lovely looking bike IMO. Nice video, they seem to be getting better and better! Keep them coming please.

Kawi just ended cops key snatching 🤣

Just started watching your videos. I really enjoy the way you review the bikes. Very informative
Thank you for watching!
I’m enjoying my 500 SE. I have 600 miles on it so far and get compliments almost every time I take it out
I just bought mine yesterday! I love it already
Good choice! The bike rides and looks great
Which color did you get?

The bike has the same colors as my work’s logo! I’m buying a bike mostly to ride to work, so I definitely won’t be buying this color scheme haha!

This thing is objectively gorgeous
Wow that's the shop I was going to buy my z900 but ended up picking up a MT-10. Wasn't expecting to see a local shop. That was cool.

Ninja 400 much better than this 500.
The 40th anniv paintjob definitely makes it look bigger than it is ! ...

In the Philippines the SE edition is in a matte grey with green lining
I got th 40th , love it

Fingers crossed! 🤞

What is the noise it makes when it is running? It’s a very distinct noise. Like a rattle?
i ended up buying it as my first bike, i didnt have the choice to buy the passenger seat and instead I got the seat cowl is that normal?
The "hole" at the bottom of the windshield is to prevent buffeting.
What is that?
Is it the only kawa bike with usb charger?
Couldn't you just have the wind screen tinted to get rid of the glare?
I really hate the key fob thing I was super confused at the dealership trying to actually turn it on. Love the bike though

Can you review CFMoto 450SR or the new 450 SR-S? IMO that is the best bang for buck for within the 500cc class!

Single disc brake on the front? Hope it's not as woeful as early single disc 500cc Kawasakis.
Here is hoping. It doesn’t look as captivating as double disk configuration
Wish the manufacturers would make budget raw sports bike about 100hp
Great Video, first time bike rider here. Do you think this would be a good bike for a 51-year-old? Or do older people prefer cruisers? Thanks

How much you guys think it's worth to spend on a clean used 2020 ninja 400 ? Prices are crazy

Depends on how you ride it, currently I am getting 48.9mpg ...

How does paying extra 200 for ugly color scheme equal best bang for buck?
I seen this bike at dealership the color scheme does nothing for me. Doesn't excite me at all, I hate the green on the bike.
