- For the past few months, trash has been accumulating on New York City's streets. Despite daily operations, because of a COVID related budget cut, the New York City Department of Sanitation has been struggling to keep its streets free of litter. However, New Yorkers have stepped up to the plate and are starting to clean the streets by themselves.
Individuals like David Kass and organizations like the Clean Bushwick Initiative have made it their mission to beautify their neighborhoods. Every individual can have an impact and make a difference - it just starts by starting!

This is making me think about how I could do something similar in my own neighbourhood
Yeah! That is exactly what we'd hope this video would encourage people to do 😁 We wish you all of the best with your neighbourhood venture! let us know how it goes
I think that's fantastic. It's amazing how when you take pride in your neighborhood and home how it makes you feel responsible being a part of it & connected to it. When others are seeing you have respect and care for your neighborhood ours will follow suit.
I've never been to NYC but I can't imagine just seeing concrete and brick all day. What a fun creative idea to make it colorful by allowing artists to leave their creativity for others to view. Great story and good job! 👍
Love this video! I love David's energy 👏
Thank you Fabien! David, the Clean Bushwick Initiative guys and Jason Naylor are awesome 🙌
Such a simple message yet so important to remind people! 👏 great video!
Yes! Thank you!
Love this. So inspiring! We can all do better!
🙏❤️
You guys should have way more attention
We appreciate that! Trying to be more consistent on weekly video uploads :)
super video "Anyone can make a difference "
Thank you Catherine! Indeed! Anyone can make a difference 💪
I thought about doing this, but if I did then San Francisco would rip it out by the roots. Glad this is working out for you.
Great video. Is there provision for people to put things in the bin in the area and people are just lazy or is it that more bins might encourage people not to litter? Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you Sean! We think it may be a mix of both: mindset and lack of bins. There are already quite a few bins around but adding more could most likely help further and then continuing to raise awareness about trash impacts
