We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ruclips.net/user/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
Hi to all. First, I'll answer a few questions I saw people had about these headphones, then my thoughts about the headphones. First, the headphones do have a mike in them, and yes, you can indeed take phone calls on them. I called a friend last night, and she told me, she could hear me just fine and I could hear her very well. I've got a set of soni headphones I paid around $130 for and they sound great with music, but not so good with phone calls. Next, someone asked about using the life q20s in wired mode. Now, if you use them in wired mode, you can use them with the headphones turned off. In fact, if you have the headphones on and in bluetooth mode, and plug in an aux cable, the headphones shut off and then you just use them as they are. However, this will of course disable the bass up and noise canceling features. Also, if you do use noise canceling, the volume does drop a little. The headphones are a bit louder with the noice canceling off. Also, someone asked if the life 2 headphones were as good as the life q20s, and according to amazon and anker, the life q20s are an improved version of the life 2 headphones. Someone also asked about the life 10 headphones. They sound similar to the life 20s except the life 20s have noise canceling. Now, my thoughts about the life q20s. I really like these headphones. I wish they could get just a bit louder, but if you don't want to really crank up your music, they will be loud enough. Also, the bass on these headphones is very clear and not muddy. I think I like the bass boost off and I really like my bass, but at least for me, they almost have a bit to much bass with the bass up on. I also think with bass up on, the vocals kind of receed in the background a bit to make way for the extra bass punch. Also, to get the bass up on, press the play button twice quickly, and there will be an audio prompt with a very clear voice saying bass up and press the play button again twice and the audio voice will say normal. I had to do a quick check on the web to find that out. I like the audio feedback. I think it is pretty cool that as soon as you turn the headphones on, a voice will say battery high, medium, or low. Same with noise canceling. If you hold in the button, it will speak and say noise canceling on, or off when you press and hold the button again. Overall, for the price, these headphones are a great buy. I don't know how long this will last, but I just grabbed them from amazon a couple days ago, and I automatically got $10 off the price when I checked them out. There is also a nice hardshell case for around $14 or so, that you can get to store these headphones in. I got the headphones and the case and including tax, it cost me just under $70 which I think is a very good deal. These headphones will also sound good listening to audio books or podcasts as well. These would also be great if you were in a gym or out and you didn't want background noises disturbing you. Someone asked why the review mentioned 30 hours and then 40 hours of play time. Well, with noise canceling on, they would last for 30 hours, but with noice canceling off, they would give you up to 40 hours. To some up my comments, just do your research and find what best works for you. I know there are headphones that are better then these, but it all comes down to what you can afford. Just because you can't immediately spend $300 for a soni set, or $400 for the newest bose headphones doesn't mean you can't get some great headphones for music and books. Pick yourself up a set of the life q20s and I know you'll have fun with them as I already am!!!!
Hi to all. I just need to update my review a little bit. I gave some incorrect information last time. In my previous comment, I stated that when you used the anker life-q20 headphones in wired mode, the noise canceling would turn off. This isn't exactly true. What I usually do, is first turn on my life q 20 headphones. This will of course connect them directly to my iPhone 8 via bluetooth. I'll immediately be told the battery life. Then, I'll plug in the included cable and I'll hear the headphones make the shut off sound. However, my noise canceling will still be turned on. I can test this by holding down the noise canceling button. I will hear my headphones say off and the sound of my headphones will change. I press and hold the noise canceling button again and a voice will say noise canceling. Sorry for including incorrect information in my last comment. Again, the anker life q 20 headphones are great. They work well with audio books on the bard mobile app on my iPhone 8. The bard mobile app is an app that you can only use if you are blind which I am. Music also sounds great as well. It is a lot of fun to press and hold the play button and hear the Siri tone and say play music from youtube music.
These suckers are loud once you activate the NC (noise cancellation button). I tested and it has 7.1 surround = left channel, center channel, right channel, right surround channel, right rear surround channel, left rear surround channel, left surround channel and LFE channel :) Very nice. Total price with same day delivery - $88 TOTALLY WORTH IT. Base is redokulas - feely fi foo foo ludacris. I also use freeware called Equalizer APO 1.2.1. to adjust sound perfectly. For those that might get some pandemic stimulus - this is your next purchase. I have others, but for price, the quality is GREAT, period. Oh, and I have spectacles and can wear these all day, no problems, and no pressure on my floppy big'O Dumbo ears.

They really do make great products for the price. They are value-minded, but not value performance. They have big sound for the price, and are made well.
In the realm of Bluetooth headphones, they’re definitely cheap compared to Sony and Bose. They offer a ton of value and seem to be a better bet than buying some random Chinese brand off Amazon.

Thanks for the review, I recently received the life q20 headphones and found the wind noise to be a problem. I didn't see any comments on this issue. Any ideas?
Bluetooth 5.0 is nice, but what about AptX and AptX LL for lag free gaming? Also, how is the call quality? So many of these have great sound as an audio device and absolute garbo for phone calls or two way communication on a PC.
yea, most of the headphones are gargabe for two way communication, even reference ones like Sony's XM4 (the best ANC ever created). but most of the people don't buy it expecting to communicate well, they just want a good audio quality for listening to music and a good ANC to be in peace
Hey sir, just 3 days ago i got these headphone, but I’m concern about the ear pads replacement, do you think beats studio 2/3 earpads could be a replacement for the q20’s? i tried contacting anker here in indonesia for advice, but no luck, they say just buy a universal earpads, which I don’t know which one should i use.. or is there anything you would recommend? really need an advice for future reference. I had a set of beats that my wife bought me. I have no clue how much they cost. But when I went down. I went to Walmart looking for another set of headphones. About the soundcore q20. I actually like them better than my beats. And I'm quite sure they're a lot cheaper. Thanks for the review. Hope your mom is doing better.
I just ordered these from Amazon and am pretty excited. I hate spending a lot of money on headphones because they often don’t hold up, but these seem great for the price.
They sound great but are the most delicate headphones I own. They spent all the money on the sound and mics for ANC. Build is horrid so just be gentle with them. I love mine.. battery lasts like forever.
Enjoyed the review and found the overview of the features of Q20 very good. Do you kow if you can turn the sound cancelling on and it works when you are not listen to music, podcasts etc. I work in an open planned office and it would be good to cut the background noice out.
It works regardless of what you're listening to. Of course, it's likely not as great when it's something like an audio book versus music because it's not as dynamic or noisy but the ANC works with any audio. I didn't personally test it with an audio book or podcast but I can check it out for you. I still have them.

Dude,My Anker Soundcore Q20 is vibrating like crazy when i turn on the noise cancelling,do you know how to fix it? i saw someone with the same problem as i am. It's so annoying
Great, consice review. You mentioned the call quality. How is the call quality in noisy places like at a train station or just outside with some wind and traffic going on?
I wasn't able to test it out in the wind or mass transit - don't really have trains or anything here. I tested it with a oscilatting fan which was pretty loud and it worked well.
@@TechOdyssey thank you, these and Mpow seem to be the two brands to watch for my budget (getting them shipped to where I live is a part of me staying under 50 )
@@TechOdyssey Correction: I said there was a $28 deal on amz but that's for the Q10. Did you review the Q10? I'm worried they have too much bass, even w/out the bass+ turned on. (just from what I've seen). thx again!
@@chrissmith2963 i have them and I've been testing them. I haven't made my review video yet. The bass is definitely strong but I dont think its overwhelming, but our preferences may he different. Also, the 10s get about 20 percent louder than the 20s, in my opinion. You can always turn it down. They get really loud, versus the 20s which sound good and get loud enough, but not to the level of the 10s
@@TechOdyssey Found your excellent comparison vid of 10 vs 20. Tempted to jump on that Q10 deal. I don't think I'd use the bass boost at all. if bass boost is off is sound of bass at a tolerable lvl? don't want thumping bass at all times.
Chris Smith I think it depends more on the type of music that you listen to, and also is you can adjust the equalizer in whatever app you use to music. I don’t think it’s overpowering. I like the bass that it produces and don’t care much for the bass up feature. That’s too much bass for me. I am more impressed with the overall audio quality in the 10s than the 20s, especially at half the price. I don’t think you’ll be unhappy with them.
I just went and looked online and they look mostly the same... Not really sure what the difference is, at face value from looking at their website. Q20 still appear cheaper though. I would likely still recommend them. Life 2 say premium comfort. Maybe they have more comfortable earphones cushions. Life q20 says universal comfort.
@Rudeboy The Soundcore Life 2 does not have hybrid ANC (only single-mic ANC). The Soundcore Life Q20 is Anker's entry-level hybrid ANC. This channel reviews only merchandise it has bought.
I have been looking for some headphones 🎧 this headphones have everything I want in headphones but can u tell me if Headphones leak sound could you please tell me
I’ve always been a huge anker Fan like whenever I want some reliable and reasonably priced thats what I go for I’ve got a Anker Soundcore boost one best speakers I’ve had and was only £60 can’t fault their quality either really good.
Enjoy the sound, but they are too big! Hang low on my ears and after just 20 minutes it makes my jaw hurt. Do you have any recommendations for folks with smaller heads? ;)
Anyone know how to update the Bluetooth driver? I was advised to do this as they keep dropping connection while using my android phone. This has only started happening recently. Cheers
I can't say for certain but the Vortex may be more appealing. I don't want to completely recommend them because I have never listened to them myself. The ANC does take away from the lower frequencies and the volume, but you can also listen to it without it being enabled. I would check out a couple reviews of the Vortex on YT and see what other reviewers have to say about them before making a purchase.
@@NomadicBristolview I just saw them on sale on Slickdeals.net this morning. Might be worth looking into. I've never used them before but seems pretty decent. I've heard they're good.
Thank you for your review. i noticed you nevr said anything on the sound quality with the 3.5mm cables. Can you please show how well they do with the cables? Please
Odd question. You can use them with wire or by Bluetooth. Any way I can have the wire plugged into my guitar amp and use the Bluetooth for a backing track at the same time? Wish I could find headphones capable of playing two sources at once.
Good review, sold me on getting a set just now. I have the Bose but these would be a good backup to take on the road so i dont loose my expensive Bose Q's.
I think I'm gonna put these on my Christmas list! I need new over the ear "do not disturb" headphones for the office. I like the soundcore in ear buds.
It's a review, not a how-to video. I don't usually go through the pairing process on a video. They are very easy to pair and are automatically in pairing mode the first time you turn them on.
What if you want to use these as earplugs and don't want to hear any sound at all or a white noise sound only? I bought these to block out all sound. Any suggestions?
In terms of sound quality it's hands down the Vortex because it has aptX. Life 2, Q20 does not. In terms of comfort Life 2 and Q20 wins for larger heads. Vortex is better for medium to small heads. Note iOS doesn't support AptX, Macs do.
Hi, Thanks for the review. I bough this headphone but I've got a problem. I can't control the volume of the headphone from the mac. Master volume is gray and doesn't change in midi setup. Do you have same problem? MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019) MacOSX Catalina V10.15.5
Im trying to decide between getting these or the Sennheiser 4.50 headphones, is the higher price worth it on the Sennheiser's or should I just get the q20?
I have the Soundcore headphones he is reviewing for three months now. I would recommend them, great sound and the noise canceling and bass boost work well.
I need your help ! I have these headphones and when plugged in bluethoot mode, the sound have a lot of distorsion, but only on my computer and I don't know how to fix that :(
@Kalpa Life Q20 is superior to Space NC: 40-hour vs 20-hour battery, Bluetooth 5.0 vs 4.1, plus Life Q20 has Hi-Res Audio, BassUp Technology, and Fast Charge. Life 2 does not have hybrid ANC, so it is inferior to both.
Guys I have a problem with this headphone. When I activated ANC music sound cracks when I jump or step hard on the ground and sometimes right ear piece doesn't work. This is not happening when ANC turned off. any of you have this problem?
Thanks. In for one. Just needed ANC for upcoming flight, not expecting much on sound quality for music playback. I have AKG K702 and Chifi OEM for that.
Constructive criticism, don't continually summarize the same features over and over. Keep the review clean and succinct. (Battery life, charge time, range were all repeated multiple times even with the same story...almost to your mailbox)
I am considering these headphones to use as a productivity device while studying around the house. Given my current needs, I don’t anticipate traveling with these or being in ultra noisy environments, but I want to be able to block out distracting household noises with the aid of a little ambient sound in the headphones and the ANC feature. Do you think these headphones provide enough ANC to accomplish that?

Great, consice review. You mentioned the call quality. How is the call quality in noisy places like at a train station or just outside with some wind and traffic going on?
I wasn't able to test it out in the wind or mass transit - don't really have trains or anything here. I tested it with a oscilatting fan which was pretty loud and it worked well.
@@TechOdyssey Sounds good. I'm going to give it a try.
@@randysem any update on testing this?
Hi! Does microphone work correctly with cable/Bluetooth on PC (Windows 10)?
sound quality-wise, for folks that listen to a wide variety of music, how would you compare this to the Q10s?
Q20s have a better overall sound but the bass isn't as heavy or loud as the Q10. Plus you get noise cancelling on these.
also this might be a broad question but I've been looking around for decent headphones under or around $50 any recommendations ?
@@TechOdyssey thank you, these and Mpow seem to be the two brands to watch for my budget (getting them shipped to where I live is a part of me staying under 50 )
anker q20, anker q10, tribit xfree tune, taotronics bh090, edifier w830bt or edifier w860nb?
Soundcore q30
It is unclear to me if these have a microphone? Would these be appropriate for work conference calls connected via Bluetooth to a laptop?
They both have microphones and can be used for phone calls.
So the volume does not go up to 11 then? bummer ... Are these worth the extra $ over the Q10 model? (right now there's a deal on them for $28 on amz).
If you dont care about active noise cancellation, I would recommend the Q10s.
Is there a difference between the soundcore life 2 and the Q20 ? The life 2 are on sale at Costco and the q20 on amazon. Let me know thanks
I will have to look. I'm not familiar with the Life 2 headphones. I don't know what's different about them.
@@Lawliet734 Which Bass is better? TIA.
I have been looking for some headphones 🎧 this headphones have everything I want in headphones but can u tell me if Headphones leak sound could you please tell me
How do you think they would work for yard work like pushing a lawn mower. Thanks!
Just picked these up based on your review, thanks dude.
@Zinedine Paelinck not too bad mate
@@greevsy does the headband hurt after using it
@@vlbxrto_187 not at all use mine quite abit too
I’ve always been a huge anker Fan like whenever I want some reliable and reasonably priced thats what I go for I’ve got a Anker Soundcore boost one best speakers I’ve had and was only £60 can’t fault their quality either really good.
I am an Anker fan too. I have been impressed by other Anker products (especially the battery) and that's why I am considering this item now.
Cheers
How heavy are these? And would you recommend them for running/exercising? Thanks for the thorough review!
I would recommend the Q10s for working out over the Q20s. Louder and more bass and half the price and I think more durable for that sort of activity
100% subbing to you, thanks for the review!😄👍
Wow. Awesome. Thank you. Glad to have you aboard!
I bought this headphone because of ur introduction. Thanks - Great
Nice. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy them
Q20 vs liberty 2 pro. I realise one is earbuds and one is headphones but which one has better sound quality?
Liberty 2 pro are definitely a better sound experience but yes, they are very different products
I have a pair. And they're really good.
do they leak sound?
I don't need anc. More focused on volume and lower frequencies. These or the vortex?
I can't say for certain but the Vortex may be more appealing. I don't want to completely recommend them because I have never listened to them myself. The ANC does take away from the lower frequencies and the volume, but you can also listen to it without it being enabled. I would check out a couple reviews of the Vortex on YT and see what other reviewers have to say about them before making a purchase.
Look at the Anker Q10 then - essentially the same as this, minus Noise Cancellation... and cheaper.
@@NomadicBristolview I just saw them on sale on Slickdeals.net this morning. Might be worth looking into. I've never used them before but seems pretty decent. I've heard they're good.
@@NomadicBristolview unfortunately they're not available in my country :(
@@TechOdyssey I've watched more yt vids on headphones than anything probably. Alot of the people says the bass is good but alot also say it's lacking
Are these better as the Soundsurge 90 (TT-BH090)?
I don't know. I've never listened to the soundsurge 90. Sorry
Thank you for your review. i noticed you nevr said anything on the sound quality with the 3.5mm cables. Can you please show how well they do with the cables? Please
Is there 2 versions of this Q20 ? Cause i've seen your box packaging specs 30 hrs playtime, meanwhile another reviewer box specs 40 hrs playtime.
Odd question. You can use them with wire or by Bluetooth. Any way I can have the wire plugged into my guitar amp and use the Bluetooth for a backing track at the same time? Wish I could find headphones capable of playing two sources at once.
brandon anderson no you need a mixer
I am a very large & tall person with a large head (I wear a size 8 3/4 hat). Do you think these headphones would be comfortable for me?
Good review, sold me on getting a set just now. I have the Bose but these would be a good backup to take on the road so i dont loose my expensive Bose Q's.
Thanks for watching. They are solid. Check out my Q10 vs Q20 review I just posted a few days ago so you can see the difference before you buy
just picked these up thank for helping me decide.
No worries. Glad I could help! Thanks for watching the video and I hope you enjoy them.
Nice review. Have you tested Mpow H10 or H12? Would you recommend one of those ore Q20? Thanks!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. No. I haven’t ever worked with mpow before so I’m not familiar with their products. Sorry.
Does it get loud and is the quality good?
Some unboxings says that thus ones have 40 hrs of battery life, and yours 30 hours ?
Are these over the ear type...please reply
Yes
@@TechOdyssey thankss sir.. 😍
I think I'm gonna put these on my Christmas list! I need new over the ear "do not disturb" headphones for the office. I like the soundcore in ear buds.
Amazon has a $10 off coupon right now so they're only $49!
They are fancy, and a great deal at that price.
Ear buds over the long term will damage your ears due to the source too close to the eardrum. I have these q20s and they are solid quality.
@@TechOdyssey even better. They went on sale for $40!
@@aabeard4749 awesome. Did you buy them?
A little explanation of how Pire them to i Phones and how use the different functionalities will help more that just talk nice about the headphones.
Any suggestions?
comparing it to the anker vortex which of the 2 would you recommend
The Q20. The vortex don't have active noise cancelling.
In terms of sound quality it's hands down the Vortex because it has aptX. Life 2, Q20 does not. In terms of comfort Life 2 and Q20 wins for larger heads. Vortex is better for medium to small heads. Note iOS doesn't support AptX, Macs do.
but do they have water resistant lol jk
Very good all-round review. Thank you !!
How is sound quality compared to One Odio pro 10/30 headphones
Thank you. I appreciate it. I am not sure how it sounds compared to those. Sorry. I haven’t listened to them
Thanks for prompt response 🙂
@@gmonterohell sure thing. Have a great day

Awesome! Glad I could help
Are these still worth it or is there something better right now
They are yes. Check out my review on the new Q30 video though.
I'd appreciate if someone who knows what kind of brand Anker can help, and is JBL comparable to brands like Sony?
I'm a little bad at my English, sorry
das all rite
does the q20 have a mic because i dont want a mic with my headphones
Yes it has built in mics for phone calls and audio recording
Im trying to decide between getting these or the Sennheiser 4.50 headphones, is the higher price worth it on the Sennheiser's or should I just get the q20?
I have the Soundcore headphones he is reviewing for three months now. I would recommend them, great sound and the noise canceling and bass boost work well.
I need your help ! I have these headphones and when plugged in bluethoot mode, the sound have a lot of distorsion, but only on my computer and I don't know how to fix that :(
I have problem with sound cracking and its slowing video! Used only few months
What about sound quality vs sennheiser 450 or sony wh700 more or less?
I'm not sure. I haven't listened to those
Life Q20 or space NC which should I buy if price is not a problem
I don’t know enough about the Space ones to make a recommendation on them but with the price disparity I would likely still recommend the Life Q20s
What about life 2 vs life Q20
@@kalpafernando1998 I second this question. @techodyssey you are the only person on youtube who had their hands on both
DrJames true
@Kalpa Life Q20 is superior to Space NC: 40-hour vs 20-hour battery, Bluetooth 5.0 vs 4.1, plus Life Q20 has Hi-Res Audio, BassUp Technology, and Fast Charge. Life 2 does not have hybrid ANC, so it is inferior to both.
Are they durable?
Guys I have a problem with this headphone. When I activated ANC music sound cracks when I jump or step hard on the ground and sometimes right ear piece doesn't work. This is not happening when ANC turned off.
any of you have this problem?
iTS better than bluedio t4s???
Thanks. In for one. Just needed ANC for upcoming flight, not expecting much on sound quality for music playback. I have AKG K702 and Chifi OEM for that.
How do you compare this with skullcandy crusher evo
Sorry. I'm not familiar with them but generally I'm not a skullcandy fan. Overpriced and underperforming

Constructive criticism, don't continually summarize the same features over and over. Keep the review clean and succinct. (Battery life, charge time, range were all repeated multiple times even with the same story...almost to your mailbox)

If you go for cheap ones go for reputed brands like Anker, soundpeats, Edifier likes. Good review though! Thanks
Anker makes Soundcore.
Which one to choose Q20 vs Taotrinics SS85 ??
I prefer the Q20s
Is the ANC better on Q20?? I would choose Taotronics because of their USB-C and aptX but what about Anker??
Thanks for the review. One question, Can the soundcore q20 pair with two devices at the same time?
I honestly can't remember off the top of my head but it does have bluetooth 5.0 so it has the hardware to be capable of it. I just don't remember.
can these be used on an xbox for gaming? does it pick up audio?
So what about playing games whil using it ???
So sad there no replacement earpads for the headphone ?
can anyone comment as to which is better soundcore life q20 v taotronics sounsurge 55 ???..
Maybe @eljefereviews knows
I am considering these headphones to use as a productivity device while studying around the house. Given my current needs, I don’t anticipate traveling with these or being in ultra noisy environments, but I want to be able to block out distracting household noises with the aid of a little ambient sound in the headphones and the ANC feature. Do you think these headphones provide enough ANC to accomplish that?

Is it support AAC or aptx Bluetooth codec?
can it pair with more than a device?
