David, don't take the comments here to heart. I trapped when I was back in high school and I know what it takes, there are a ton of folks out there that are ignorant of anything beyond their doorstep. You keep doing what you're doing, plenty of us support what you are doing.

Every once in a while, I run across an article about feral hogs. Last one I read talked about all the diseases pigs can carry. Hogs are great reservoirs for the flu virus to do some shifting and mixing up of the flu DNA. They can also carry several other zoonotic diseases (diseases that both the hogs and humans can catch). Just another reason we need people like David to eliminate the pests.

I can so relate to this. I got saved when I was 19. A few years after I got saved, lots of people told me "You'd make a great pastor someday." I said, "NO WAY!!!!" 9 years ago, 2 years of Bible school, and applying to 55 different churches, God blessed me with a job at my home church as an assistant pastor. @@knotengajin7359 the problem with that is in most states, keeping wild hogs is illegal. Back in the day. My grandfather kept a wild hog in a pen at all times. That hog would be fattened up by feeding it corn and would be taken to the slaughterhouse and processed for the table. It's been my experience from feeding those wild hogs as part of my chores. Those hogs never got over being caught and locked in a pen. They were wild until the slaughtering.

@@overwatch2671 Not that long ago, like up into the 1960s, homesteader types still existed and let their meat hogs wander free feeding themselves until slaughter time. These domestic hogs interbred with imported boar producing the diversity in size and coloration we see in feral hogs today. Setting that aside, I was speaking more along the lines of going the pet route rather than ham meaning lots of direct interaction.

Some people just don't realize how much damage these hogs can do to a place. They just keep coming back but keep up the good work knocking them in the head and feeding the family's. God bless 🙏

Dave, for most of us you don't have to explain, but sadly there are so many who don't understand and also refuse to understand. Anyways, you explain it as plainly as can be. Keep up the good work.

I agree with everything you said. You can explain all day and some folks just don’t get it. The Lord will always presents challenges but the strong will overcome. Peace!

I’m late to the party :/. Great job maneuvering through the woods (and mud) to get to those hogs. Looks like the land owner needs to do a little maintenance on that bridge! You be careful out there David. We love your videos muddy or dry. Thanks for your part in helping control this hog nuisance. Thanks for sharing part of your day :)
