Thank you Arif saib. Your feelings are same as all citizens of Pakistan whose ancestors migrated from India to Karachi Thank you that you translate feelings of all migrated people. I wish I also get chance to visit my loving and country of my dreams.
Arif Sahab, I personally feel very proud, being Lucknowite, that you liked Lucknow so much that you will prefer staying in Lucknow if ever get chance to stay in India. We, Lucknowites would really welcome you and certainly will feel blessed to have such a wonderful human being like you among us in Lucknow.🙏🇮🇳
Sir you just made me so proud of being a Lucknowite. I live in the UK but my heart is in Lucknow. Tejzib, culture, history, food, easy/calm life...what is not there in Lucknow to make it home!
Divide and rule still on: An Essay on siege of Lucknow Residency -1857 (How it still effects India) The ruins of Lucknow residency building had always intrigued me. As I was born and raised in Lucknow, I used to get information about the residency building and its history from here and there. The famous siege of Lucknow residency during the first war of independence in 1857 is something most of us know about (Please Google it if you don't). However, there is something we either do not know or have chosen to ignore. I came to know about this when I got an opportunity to work as a volunteer guide for UP tourism in Lucknow. Something that we should all know because it isn't just a chapter in the history books, it is something that is deriving those who want to disintigrate our beloved nation even today. Now you may wonder why and how ruins of a building can derive anybody to act against anybody. So firstly you should know that the ruins of this building were kept by the English to keep reminding them of the lives of English soldiers, men women and children who sadly lost their lives during the siege of 1857. After the first war of independence ended, the British shifted the capital of then United Province from Lucknow to Allahabad (now Prayagraj). However, they did not repair or destroy the ruins of the residency building but left the building as it was and turned it into a sought of war memorial so that they do not forget what has happened and avenge it from the people of India. The atrocities of the British including the infamous Jaliyanwalan bagh massacre can be accredited to the hate that generated after this incident. Do not forget that the British ruled India till 1947. Now, let's come to the point, how this building can be related to what is happening in today's time...? So while working as a volunteer guide in Lucknow I met with a few British and Australian tourists who came to visit Lucknow especially because this was an important chapter in their history books. Many come to Lucknow to find the graves of their ancestors even today. I have a very vivid memory of the English cricket team visiting the Lucknow residency in the 90s and the newspapers reporting them getting emotional during the visit. So, if you are still wondering why the royals from UK visit Pakistan despite knowing their role in harbouring factories of terrorism? Why there is support for Khalistanis in the UK and Canada? Why the British have not apologized for the Jaliyanwala bagh massacre...? It is this chapter in their history books which derive them to avenge what happened in 1857. Also keep in mind the 'Raj' was in India for almost 200 years and it has only been 75 odd years since 1947, when they had to leave because of the situation arising from WW2. I am sure that not all Britishers hate India or wish to avenge 1857, but there are these elements which cannot and should no longer be ignored. Jai Bharat..!
