Ive got 4 of these cameras and I have never used the SD card (more fool me I guess) does the firmware need upgrading to ensure this works? I will be blown away if it doesnt!!
Hi there, no firmware needed, all you have to do is insert the sd card and format it, that's all, from there you can just set the camera menu to use the sd card to record photos and video
@@artemorbid I have now ordered 4x class 10 SDHC 64gb cards to figure this one out!. (I can use them on other kit if it doesnt work out) But I will absolutely let you know how I get on. This is astounding news because more recent direct to SD kit (I bought a JVC GY-HM100E (HM150) that is a twin SD JVC unit & I had to upgrade its firmware (that was mildly difficult) but I did it ok. That machine only accepts 32gb but now class 10 so all good. Thank you for re energising my interest in this kit!
@@artemorbid so I added the 64gb cards (they werent expensive anyway) and they are maxed out at just under 30gb on a formate so the format it would seem just wont go higher than that. I may look at firmware now to see if I can get more out of them but I have a feeling it will still be restricted. It STILL offers a decent time on the recording so I can use them regardless. I may use 32gbs if that doesnt work Thank you anyway
If you want to see how to convert these cameras TOD files, I made a tutorial for that here ruclips.net/video/0znFwgKC-fU/видео.html
I still have one over these. Very rarely use it now. Was a great camera in its time.
I agree
Awesome video thanks for sharing 👍
You are very welcome
Excellent tutorial:)
Thank you so much
I need to buy a charger for mine, can you point me in the direction of a cable that would work? I am enjoying your videos, thank you.
Hi David, perfect yes, I have a link to both, here is the one to a battery amzn.to/41OcZsa
And here is the link to the cable for power amzn.to/447GaIB
Thank you!

When I click SD it changes the SP mode, can I record FHD into an SD card?
Unfortunately, you cannot do that. The camera was not advanced enough. You can only record that FHD in the internal drive
@@artemorbid interesting. Is there a way to get FHD from the HDD to Mac? I haven’t figured how to?
