@@raysmith6891 its the least of their concerns when coming to save in experienced people who do stupid shit those few seconds to slow down to pull visor down could mean death for someone
@darcie_ no it doesn't but in some situations it definitely is not priority think in the moment tide allready rising stuck deep in mood and near to fully submersing or washing person out to sea getting that person out to safety is more important in my opinion than a bit of water in the face or mud
I hold the RNLI, DGzRS, KNRM and other organisations of the same kind in highest regards, volunteers who invest a lot of their time and sometimes risk their lives to save others. Considering the difficult conditions this launch was perfect, fast and professional. Being a sailor, I am glad they exist should I ever be in distress. DON'T FORGET, IT IS TIME TO DONATE.
Impressive craft, but does seem to be a slight design flaw here. Looks like they could do with having the ability to inflate the skirts without engaging the propulsion, to allow it to be positioned on the slipway more easily by the handlers.
It is still faster to launch than a boat (except a slipway launched ALB), but that's not the intention of it. It's so that it can travel up on to land and mud, where boats or wheeled land vehicles wouldn't be able to reach.
You weren't there were you. Nor perhaps do you know the area. Nor the rescue in question. In fact if you knew that the rescue involved crossing dangerous mud flats like quicksand, to rescue an elderly lady who had fallen from a cliff, who then needed safely transferring to a stretcher, then taken by hovercraft back across the mud flats to the waiting air ambulance helicopter, then you might wish to delete your comment.
They rescued an elderly lady who'd fallen from a cliff, before the tide came in, and got her to a waiting helicopter ambulance, all within 30 minutes of them arriving in Arnside by truck. Your comment makes you sound like an absolute idiot.
Silly comment. It was to rescue an elderly lady who had fallen part way down a cliff. Thanks to the hovercraft she was rescued quickly, taken to hospital and made a full recovery.
I would first look at people expertise and the RNLI have well over a hundred years experience doing rescues all around the UK with a wide range of different boats and hovercraft, they know every in and out of rescuing people around Britain's coast. I would take their opinion over someone who misspelt the word "rescue".
Think you guys should wear eye protection when assisting the launch of the Hovercraft.
Peter Healey goodness agreed! Seriously why haven’t they thought of it.
Peter Healey ther helmets have integrated visors that they can pull down if they want and if their in a hurry thats the last thing that comes to mind
@@AndrewR2130 they need more training then. Ppe is there for a reason.

Pleased that wall didn't rip the skirt. Launch points in the uk seem to be shite at best these days.
If the cars were not parked on the keep clear markings the transporter would have probably backed down the slipway

Wonderful thanks, finally a hovercraft engineer expert to explain that to us !!
It sounds like a leafblower....
Mr wolf Games we use leaf blowers to extinguish grass fires. Works great!
Not quite sure why it has to be dragged into the water . Don’t hovercraft hover ?
Because it's floating on air. They don't want to rip the curtain on the walls
Hovercraft a notoriously difficult to steer. It isn't being dragged, the guys are aiding the steering
Can launching a boat be more complicated?
well ... yes :-D
Isn't the point of this thing to be (Faster to Lanch) then a boat ?
Takes like 30 minutes to get the thing of the trailer and into the water.

Its designed to go over mudflats
👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
✨💫 good
You guys look like fools holding that. Especially guy in black. Figure something else out

How do they look like fools
By the time they get it in the water, the people would be drowned.

They tend to pull people out of mud
The RNLI is the UKs #1 facilitator of illegal immigration.
Your logo leads me to believe you stick your right arm slanted in the air
Absolutely disgusting comment

HOVERCRAFT FOR RESQUE....?? I RATHER USE A HELICOPTER OR A JET POWERED ZODIAC....
Read the description. A helicopter already tried but wasn't possible and I assume the hovercraft was better suitted than a boat.
They have hovercrafts where there is a risk of people being trapped by rising tides and being stuck in wet sand. Where a boat be able to get too.
@Julian V. I wouldn't care what mode they used If it were going to save me life two oil barrels and a plank of wood would do!
