  • See the difference a grow light can do on your succulents. Graptoveria Lovely Rose and Graptopetalum paraguayense ssp. Bernalese are the two main featured plants in this video. Some are grown indoors using a grow light and others are grown outside with natural light from the sun.

    hey liz its such a nice video i cant wait to get my hands on a growlight too ,but im curious can graptoveria lovely rose handle full sun and will it go dormant in the heat?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад

      The sun doesn't have anything to do with dormancy.
      Most succulents are temperature driven when it comes to dormancy. Unless you keep them in a cool area with constant temperature. But just be aware that just like us humans....plants also need a rest period.
      In this video, My original mother plant is out in the open with just afternoon sun. The 2nd mothersss, are in an area that takes in direct sun from 11 am till 5pm. The others in the "50%UV shade cloth area," are exposed to morning sun, midday sun and afternoon sun.

    Hi! I have a question although not related to the vid. Is Amethystinum Rose Walter and Amethystinum (Pink Pebbles) the same? I found a seller that sell those two separately. Thank you in advance.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад +1

      Depends on how they look. If they look different from each other, then one would be maybe a hybrid. All I know is that there's only one Graptopetalum amethystinum "Lavender Pebbles.'

      I’ve had a lot of success with Feit Brand grow lights from Home depot here in USA. You just need full spectrum cool white bright lights. From my experience growing sun loving echeverias indoors for 4 years now that’s what I’ve learned. If you want to see what my set up looks like in my house you can check my setup on my RUclips channel. I always love helping people with growing indoors. Because when I started there was not much help for indoor growing. Most people grow outdoors.
      Always happy to help a fellow succulent grower.❤

    HI Liz, do you keep your grow lights on 24/7 or do you only have them turned on for a few hours each day? Thanks for another great vid.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад

      12 to 16 hours a day straight. Plants still need minimum 8 hours sleep or else they get grumpy and die when they're sent outdoors to grow in the real world. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks Liz. I have 5 leaves off a lovely rose and x2 mummy that got all but 2 of it's leaves burned off. I harvested them on July 27th and there are between 3 and 4 babies per leaf. Yesterday I was being too keen to remove the leaf and noticed the 3 babies were lose. I looked at roots and there were only about 3 roots and only about 1cm long. I panicked because they are so small but after seeing your stages, I think they are actually growing ok and I'm just overestimating how big they should be. They are definitely THE ones I want to propogate most. So perfect timing for me Liz. Thanks again. 🤗👸

    The lovely rose, for me, has been the fastest growing and most easiest to propagate! Once I started propagating I couldn’t hold onto them lol people were just buying them like crazy! I actually have a waiting list for when all of my props get large enough! They have just grown so fast and so beautifully, I don’t even mind the clusters. I should tell you what People pay for them! You will probably poop in your pants!
    I love this plant and watching them grow has been such a joy. I think I have one too that is reverting back to titubans, but it’s still small so I will give it more time to grow. It’s definitely bigger than an American quarter. But anyway I’m babbling now! Beautiful lovely roses I could watch videos about them all day long❤️
    Have a wonderful day😁

      Prices has gone down in Australia but it's always "OUT OF STOCK"....lol
      But we do get them locally and personally from other collectors/growers for $10/plant.

    The green is just as gorgeous as the pinks! I'm guessing it also depends on what color spectrum ratios are in your grow light. My succulents are all indoors and under various lights, some just an LED bulb with the cover taken off. When I am growing a baby I put it under my aerogarden light.
