Big news! The missing link between College & King St just opened for consultation! Have your say here: www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/proposed-works-maintenance/your-feedback-on-a-cycling-link-between-king-and-college-streets-sydney
Good analysis Chris. Cycling infrastructure is rarely perfect but College Street is a good start
Thanks! Hopefully as we keep building it we keep improving
@@ChrisTopher_Urbanism Agree, this is really cool. What tool did you use to make the new street layout?
@@shraka Thanks! I used photoshop to edit existing proposals from the council that I downloaded
@@ChrisTopher_Urbanism Oh wow, that sounds like a lot of work! Thanks for your efforts.
Happy to have stumbled on this channel 🙆♀️
Happy to have you here!
Loving these vids
Thanks!
A great vid, by the way!
Thanks!
@dominicgalvin suggested a channel meetup at a bikeable pub in the comments of my last video (the suggestion was in the comments, not the pub) - I reckon it's a spectacular idea but I won't have a free weekend for a good few weeks. Monday and Tuesday nights would potentially work well, reply to this comment if you'd be interested!
Hell yeah
100% support all the points made - but not sure about the specific application of the hierarchy on College Street. If I was walking between any points on the east of College St, I would walk on the footpath on the east side. If I was walking to/from anywhere on the west side, I would walk through the park. A footpath at road level on the west side of College St would be 100% empty.
You'd think so, but in the short time I was filming by the cycleway, I saw three people walk on the "no pedestrian access" curb - people tend to walk in the direction of their destination then cross when convenient. Maybe zebra crossings instead of signalised crossings would make a footpath redundant though.
@@ChrisTopher_Urbanism Yes. I agree. More and better ped access is needed into the park - but not necessarily along the edge of the park.
So what I got out of this is that we need to prescribe buses SSRIs??
Yep definitely, some of the busses I've driven on definitely need to be less depressed and slow
What program did u use to design that intersection, i would like to know.
I used Photoshop to edit the proposed design from the council
thanks brah@@ChrisTopher_Urbanism
Was there as many cyclists as expected while you were there?
Only a few, I was there in the middle of the day though and it had just opened
Chris Topher is a modern day Bradfield but for cycling.
Currently designing Sydney Harbour Bridge 2: This Time It's Just For Bikes
Very good watch, now do a video about Shark Tale
The ONLY way to fix congestion on the Interreef-95
Just a slight remark on your video, fix the sound. The combination of your voice and the place where you have your microphone produces a metallic sound that is horrible. Too horrible to continue. Parts are ok, just the moment you explain 'on camera' it sucks.
Thanks for the tip, I had my mic too far away while filming this one - it's fixed in my most recent vids :)
