I was in a QP match and had a Montagne charge me (with full shield up) so when he lowered his shield, I knifed him but APPARENTLY that doesn’t do anything because he still killed me
Yup. Happened to me to too. He unshielded, i melee'd him but he charged in to me right after my hit.

@@G1rlSc0ut In what world should you be rushing kills and not planting? If you dont intend to plant then dont grab defuser or at least drop it. Seen plenty of monty mains throw because they think theyre him going for the final kill only to lose a 1v4. The only reason content creators do it is A) It makes for good content because people engage through comments like these. And B) Theyre already champ and could care less at that point so throwing a round isnt the end of the world because theyre already at the top. If youre in a tournament and throw for KD like this youll be kicked out of the stack and replaced by the end of the week.

I'd argue Monty is good in soloq, but only if you are running support. I once got three revives in a row after bonking a Cav, with the shield great for moving me into position to revive. Plus you can waltz right at the enemy while extended and watch them panic.

ngl tho if any pistol could have any scope i’d run pistols about 70% of the time. the trigger finger potential and no recoil is actually crazy. with decent damage as well
As a shield main, watching you attempt to frag out with Monty while holding the defuser just to die and hand control of it to the enemy team makes my eyes shrivel into the back of their sockets.
You are not Blitz, and you shouldn't ever be carrying the defuser if this is how you are going to play.
Competent players aware of the suppression mechanic (which makes you unable to sprint or melee) will simply hit you with the [suppress shield op so they can't run or melee -> smack shield -> shoot exposed shield operator] combo if you try to rush them.
Provide info via pings/callouts to your team, and work off of them to push into site for a plant.
Don't go for frags in situations where you could easily plant and make the round 10 times easier for your team to win.
If you are going to go a shield op for frags, Blitz or Fuze (especially with the PMM's godly damage) are better choices.
Except for the fact that you take 2 impacts and die violently as blitz. I agree he should be planting but to say “NO ONE should play monty for kills” is pretty dumb because he’s inarguably the best shield op who fits the most situations you could find yourself in. Every other shield can just be backed into a corner and pummeled by any more than one enemy.
After the impact nerf, 2 direct hits with impacts won't even get any shield operator below half considering the damage resistance shields give against explosives.
It's kinda hilarious that the impact nerf results in Monty being able to tank an entire nitrocell + 2 impacts and still not go down (albiet he will be insanely low at like 3-5 HP).
Assuming your impacts hit the shield, at most you'll get Blitz down to 70 HP, while Monty and Fuze will still be well over 80 HP.
Also, I never said "No one should play Monty for kills", I said that you should never focus on fragging out when you are carrying the defuser.
Atheino did this multiple times in this vid, resulting in him dying and potentially selling the entire round by giving the defuser to the enemy team.
You don't rush for frags with Monty while carrying the defuser, I know because I've mained him for over 6 years.
Anytime I'm confident I can go for a frags to win the round with Monty or any other shield op, I'll drop the defuser if I'm currently carrying it, or I straight up won't take it at all.
@@weebdestroyer7649 “assuming your impacts hit the shield” thats the point of contention right there. As monty you can probably block them with your shield but any other shield op is gettin that bih thrown right under and at their feet, where it hits for the full 60 damage, and kills you in two impacts. Also been a monty main for the last 3yrs, never even bother with blitz or any other shield as their just not practical and literally put you at a disadvantage as opposed to just having a good gun or playing monty.

Hold close on doorways or any tight angle so they cant shoot you and smack their shield when they round the corner, then shoot them toes🤷♂️
@@quappo you dont get droned out or anything? If i hold close they knock me down or blitz flash, if i hold far i cant rly kill them. The only way I kill them is usually when I have a team mate with me.
@@zacharyjune7510 gotta be faster man use the audio to know when they’re coming. You have to almost pre-swing the melee to beat theirs. And if you get flashed stay calm and just melee and hipfire spray at them you usually get the kill. As long as you hit them with a melee their shield is off to the side and they cant do much while ur blind even if you don’t kill them. You can also shoot their shield to stop them being able to run or melee.
@@zacharyjune7510 run some one on ones with a homie and practice dealing with shields they’re pretty easy once you get the hang of it tbh.

I think they should change the sheild into the way how old Blackbeard works, like 900 hp so even thought it’s hard to break at least you know it’s breakable so you can be more tactical when treating sheilds, and it’s more balanced
