I get that same excited reaction every time I start my car in the morning! Not because it's some amazing engine swapped self creation, but because it's such an old, poorly maintained $500 shltbox, I can't believe it when I turn the key! It's a great feeling...
It was worth watching this just to see your elation and relief when the engine finally fired up. Absolutely brilliant - well done. So pleased for you. All your effort and trouble-shooting was vindicated.
Did you consider removing the fuel pump assembly when cutting the barbs? Probably would've been safer and easier, and less chance of metal filings falling down the holes.
Now that you say it, that seems so obvious! Initially I wanted to use a tube cutter on those ports but there wasn't enough clearance, I even thought about bending them but didn't want to risk breaking. I hope that fuel filter does it's job 🤞
After receiving a couple no name eBay an fitting kits, I honestly Believe brand name kits are a waste of money, beyond anything actually made in the USA. They are all coming out of the same factories in China and Taiwan and the quantity is pretty good
