I'm impressed that you found so many good albums in one location and for such a good price. I live in the western US and the cheapest I see CDs are $1 - some of the thrift shops have started raising them to $1.50 or $2... ugh. But it's really rare around here to find good titles like that, especially that many. I need to move to the UK
Hi Rob that is a great selection of CDs you picked up. You are lucky with that charity shop. A few around me are pricing theirs to what they see on eBay and also discogs. Looking for storage is on my list of things this year as well but that's not cheap.
@@britpopbuzz8564 hi David, I think oxfam uses Discogs.. in the charity shop I go to they have so many they just want to get rid of them .. they have a media area where CDs are £1 .. but another area where it’s not as organised and it’s in another building so I head there first … thanks for watching 👍
a lot of charity shops near me have stopped selling cds, say they're not worth the shelf space... that said all they ever seemed to have in was susan boyle, paul potts and dido or the corrs...
Hi Rob, I've never stopped buying CDs, not least because they've become incredible value over recent years. Some superb examples in your haul. Bluejeans and Moonbeams is a winner. I really like his Virgin Records period. Much more accessible. Pet Sounds, Teenage Fanclub, Searching for Sugarman, Eels, Gang of Four, Big Star, Tattoo You, Lana Del Rey, Solid Air, Vangelis; crikey, what a brilliant pile of bargains.
Sweetheart Of The Rodeo opened up a whole new world to me. I knew The Christian Life from the Move's BBC Sessions. It is also bookended by two Bob Dylan covers. Gram Parsons became famous through this album. He went on to form The Flying Burrito Brothers with Byrds bass player Chris Hillman. Amongst their number was Bernie Leadon who went on to form Eagles. Another album I would recommend is the latter's Desperado.
Hi Nicholas, I think sweetheart of the rodeo will take some time for me to acclimatise too , though today a couple of tracks I enjoyed.. it’s a work in progress 😀. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Well, that is a fabulous haul. I had the same reaction as you did to that Byrds album. The Eels are great. I would have grabbed some of these for that price 👍
Hi Brian .. like myself I know you’re no fan of country music .. maybe in time I might grow to like this album .. but for the moment I wasn’t that impressed.. thanks for watching.. have great weekend 👍
There's no denying you picked up some right old bargains there Rob. I got another copy of Quadrophenia on CD just before Christmas,to keep in the car and it's been on constant play ever since !!! I also picked up a couple of ska albums that were being promoted by bands on Facebook. It has to be something that really catches my eye/grabs my attention on CD for me to buy it nowadays. Having said that,I'm finding that some bands I really enjoy, made the jump from vinyl to CD and if you want a complete album discography by them, you've gotta buy the CD's.
now is the time to buy them while they're still cheap. Some nice titles! My favorite Big Star is "Thirteen". That Chicago album is their BEST! Terry Kath was an awesome guitarist.
Hi harry I want to get to know big star so that compilation is a great start .. I do like early Chicago Ive a few albums by them .. thanks for watching harry , best wishes to you in 2025 👍
Done well there Rob, some sealed some classic albums, a few to fill holes and some to generally check out, very nice! I've got about 50 to show at some point, they soon mount up when they are so cheap, I'm planning on to try and completing a few discographies on CD this year, all the best mate

Even in this day and age, that is crazy cheap for those titles, nicely done! 😮😊 It will be interesting to see how this trend continues over coming years.
Hi Rob. Good to see your first CD-only video. I picked up 16 CDs for £8 today in one charity shop. Best of your finds for me are John Martyn, Captain Beefheart, Rolling Stones (great album! I paid good money for this 2-CD version), Beach Boys, Rodriguez (not too keen on the documentary), Buzzcocks (faultless comp!), Gorillaz (cool booklet), Vangelis, Big Star (one of my absolute favourite bands; I remember you showing an Alex Chilton record before), Doves, Gang Of Four (yes, formed at Leeds Uni), Chemical Brothers (£14! When £14 was a lot of money), Bob Dylan, Lana Del Rey, Teenage Fanclub (a 90s classic!), Byrds (another stone-cold classic; Gram Parsons can do no wrong for me), Eels, Style Council, Suzanne Vega, Ian Brown, Verve, Jesus And Mary Chain, Jean Michel Jarre, and Chicago Transit Authority. Not bad for a fiver.
Hi Carl , yeah my first ever video showing solely CDs .. I’m interested to see what interest it gets .. I’ve recently bought 3 new CDs on offer for £ 6,99 in the hmv sale all 3.are 2024 releases .. thanks for commenting have a great weekend Carl 👍
Love bites, the essential album by Buzzcocks! A fairly accessible set of tracks for a punk band. Pete Shelley was incomparable, probably one of my favourite lead singers! Great vid, Rob.
It’s the same up here in Scotland Rob. Brilliant finds. It’s also getting really harder to find a gem on vinyl especially in the charity shops. Great video again mate. Take care.
