After so many years (I am a short person with a short neck) I prefer the Bon Musica shoulder rest, but no chin rest. I can't find a chin rest that suits me.Even the Wolf adaptable wax/leather chin rest.

I tried not using a shoulder rest after a very long hiatus of not using one. After a lot of research, I agreed with people who said that you have bigger fish to fry than worrying about how to configure a violin on your shoulder without any support.

I'm and adult woman having trouble holding the neck of the violin correctly due to small hands and short stubby fingers. I have the hands of a 10 yr. Girl. Do you have any tips or tricks for a beginner on holding and playing with small hands. I purchased your lessons a couple of days ago. I started lessons but with covid no one is doing lessons anymore. Thanks for any help. I'm excited to start your course.

I see that no one has replied to this comment, so I'll just answer your initial question.
Regarding your holding difficulty, I think it is more of a hand posture issue rather than your hand issue. For instance, is your left hand curved perfectly? At all times, are your four fingers directly above and parallel to the E string? Is your thumb at the correct place? All these are issues that may result in holding problems. You should try to check if you have these issues, and if you have any other queries you can ask me. :)

There's the wrong way, and then there's the right way - the Alison way. 👌😊
