Wish I saw this earlier. Took me quite a while to figure out that 7/16 x 20 fitting....LOL. Great Video! Installing the inline hydro in our E39 drifter right now. Finally going drifting in two days.
Holy sweeping brake line bends sticking up Brody! Please take about 9" off those bent lines coming off the hand brake and bend them off to the passenger side. It will look a million times better
I intalled a inline on my rsx, i have a brake booster ,abs, it locks up the back tires . But i thought it would sling shot out .it only moves about 1 inch and its already locking rear tire its strange? Mine does the same when u hit the brak eit pulls the ebrake forward but when i touch the hydro brake alone its still very stiff..any reason why the ebrak is so stiff? Any info is appreciated
Question jus askin duno if you tap into current brake lines for rear would that enguage front brake also when pulling ebrake with this setup an will u stilll have normal brake bias
Hey man, I know this video is a few months old, but are you going to put the link to the 7/16"-20 fitting in your description? I'm looking for the same stupid fitting. Thanks!
For those that are having issues finding those fittings, I ended up finding a solution. It's a pain, but it works. Summit sells a 7/16-20in Inverted Flare MALE to -3AN MALE fitting, and 3/8-24in INVERTED FLARE male to -3AN MALE. They then also sell -3AN FEMALE to -3AN FEMALE stainless braided lines in assorted lengths to join them. It sucks to need the extra gear, but all in all I think I spend an extra $30 bucks, and the only other place I could find the 7/16-20in Inverted Flare MALE to 3/16in brake line was in Australia for like $7 + $30 shipping so the cost was about the same in the end.
Wow! You're cool! I'll give you a sub. I was wondering if you could answer me a couple of questions, though: I know this video was 6 years ago, but I was wondering if you could estimate how much this project cost you. Also, I know you know far more about drifting than me, but I was wondering, isn't it better to use front brakes when drifting? That's just what I would assume.
I did this with my E30 and I can never get my brake pedal to be stiff again and the only way to lock my rear brakes up is too Pump my foot brakes up then pull the hydro does anyone have this issue too ? I have a chase bays in-line set up :/
My plan is to mount a low profile e brake in my 2003 bug eye sedan that will replace where the stock one is would I be okay to use rubber or even better yet braided line being I am going to run it under the carpet?
Team Ally Racing yes the fitting is a bubble but you need to flare a line to the fitting. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F360507066218
Angela Proton I don't know what you mean by trans handbrake but if you mean stock handbrake, stock handbrakes are cable driven that use brake shoes which can be very inconsistent and not lock up very well. This handbrake uses brake fluid and your calipers and rotors for much better locking without having to yank it very hard.
I know I seen it on outlaw 605 on t.v. how the car when jumping at the line. He had some type of Pontiac GTO a 6 sec Street car Pro Stock that wouldn't hold at the line the transbrake let go ... the host farm truck was explain maybe a hydro Blake brake fluid is what he's talking about I don't remember the name I know it holds boost
there's me thinking you was going to show us how it worked . But i could of done a better job just by pulling tue handbrake lol. Good vid but let down at the end . Shod of go that back end out

Do you know what size the outlet fitting is? Our's did not come with that, so I can't attach the 3/16 line fitting

Bruh. You didn't put the link in the description
Great! the cars coming along nicely
0:22 nice flex
Nice guy
Look for a 90 degree bend with flare for your handbrake master and you can make your lines tighter

I would like to know if this is a heavy handbrake
I remember this car. Pushing out of your garage and bring it to Kenny's shop
Good shot bro awesome vid

Phil Pillera the website I got it off of is no longer available but you can find them on eBay. Be sure to type 7/16 x20 brake line fitting 3/16 tube

I don't get why people don't just flip the cylinder so them ugly lines aren't just chillin..
ikr it looks ugly and you could easily bash them and bend them by accident.
Would it still work the same
@@shurikengaming1191 It will be the same
Wouldn't the fluid reservoir be upside-down begging to leak all over the carpet?
Lines must be up so air passes through

No front wheel drive isn’t good for drifting rwd is the hydro e brake cuts the wheels on the back and only breaks the back tires
where did you get the 7/16-20 brake fitting? didnt see a link in the description
Hoon Garage thank you! got this exact setup going in my miata. minus the dope signature;]
Jake Leptich Awesome man glad I could help! Hope it works out for you
What shifter is this? I like it.
cool video, I have an e34 drift car as well. Stich welding the chassis right now
Sean Gibbons that's sweet man! They're definitely one of a kind at the drift track
that's what I thought. Funny you wrapped your dash in suede, I had the same idea.
How do you bleed the hydro? Mine won’t lock up well
So one of the fittings is 7/16 x20 what is the other one?
good informative vid, keep it up man good job!
Luke Randall thanks! Glad this video helped!

Mechanically Musical yes that doesn’t matter but wherever you drill holes I’d recommend grommets.
Is that fitting a bubble flare or it doesn't matter do u have the link as well
Team Ally Racing yes the fitting is a bubble but you need to flare a line to the fitting. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F360507066218
I wonder what's the purpose of the front rod in the hand brake the thing goes on front and goes no where
EL DIESTRO DIY u ever find out?
it folds down to keep the hand break on when you want to park
Can this lever be locked into place, line a stock e brake?
No, at least not on this one
can you flip the cylinder so the lines are underneath or does that somehow cause problems?
OutlawUniverse not really sure. I'd imagine it would work just fine though!
There is no link in the description
Link for the fitting?
I can’t believe this has 67k views
some one were i can buy the lines?
what kind of bmw you running?
x1pyroveride it was an e34 525i but if you watch my recent video you will see I got a e36 328i

Awesome build!!!

The b14 sentra tho
Watching 1 year later and I'm building my own hydro lol.. and that's not a resivour it's a master cylinder mate ha
Yeah man he is
I got a major question what's the difference between this and a trans handbrake
