Yael Stochel I’ve recently seen videos of seixteen. She wasn’t fit at all. I saw her in fancy a d I saw her strikingly beautiful. The happiest song for Jihyo is Dance the noght away. She looks stunning there and very happy. She worked on that and I love her for doing that. She’s also talking about mental and physical health, promoting that adter what happened to Mina.
Alexander Collantes since when did you need to be fit to be beautiful. All I’m saying is that I’ve always thought she was gorgeous and even more so now. Mental health is a different story.

Loosing weight is not a bad thing especially if the weight gain is gotten from living an unhealthy lifestyle. People don't just like to hear the truth when people tell them they're fat or they've added weight, i mean its not fat shaming if its caused from a person eating carelessly; cut the carbs and work out. I feel like lazy people are the ones who get offended when people tell them stuff like that cause they're too hung up on stuffing themselves with burgers and ice-cream and do not want to work out. When someone tells you things like 'you look fat' or 'you've added weight', it's another way for the victim to do a check on the kind of stuff they're eating and in most cases it all boils down to that, eating unhealthy.

This is so wild to me, because in my opinion as a non-Twice stan, Jihyo stands out the most in the BEST way possible. She carries the vocals, dances well, and has amazing facial expressions when she performs. I always thought of her to be the best performer in terms of how she carries herself on stage. I've always thought she was pretty, too.
exactly! I think the 10 years of training contribute to it a lot but she has such a huge presence and you can tell that she enjoys being on stage as well.
I remember seeing her in their debut MV and being excited that a label finally had the balls to support an idol who had an actual healthy normal body type. She had curves and more than 5% body fat and I was so excited! I felt even slightly seen and she was GLOWING, dancing so beautifully and with so much joy, she really helped my self-image.

Almost a year has passed since I did this one, before all of Twice 2018 comebacks and I don't think Jihyo will need a part 2 anytime soon. She still looks amazing and isn't yo-yoing at all. Her weights been pretty much stable the whole year.
You're right that Jihyo's weight problems werw from stress. During Sixteen, Jihyo's mom said that her weight gain during that time was from stress/stress eating due to Sixteen and the fact that Jihyo had been training for 10 years yet hadn't debuted yet.

I've always seen Jihyo as the hardest working member ever since the beginning. No matter what I see her do she always puts in her all and I think *that* is the most important thing that it takes to be an idol, regardless of anything else. okay, this so late but I wanna say she didn't gain all that weight bc she was too comfortable in JYP she gained it bc when the group she was in 6mix didn't end up debuting she went into a downward spiral hence eating a lot.
Honestly she was never fat to begin with.. she was a healthy body size/weight. I wish that the kpop industry wouldn't be so fixated on a cookie cutter look for all their idols. Jihyo's proved time and time again that she's crazy talented and works plenty hard enough to earn her spotlight on the stage. The industry standards need to change.
It's just that the kpop and korea industry doesn't know about body types, jijyo's body, which is an inverted triangle, despite having a good proportion, has wide shoulders that makes her look "full" To them, she has always been skinny.

Hey I feel the same way. I love eating but I'm scared of gaining weight. On the eyes of everyone, I'm slim but I still want more. Be careful, and maybe the advice I could give you is work out, maybe ten minutes per day, it's not a lot but working out and seeing some results takes you far away from self depreciation and a possible eating disorder. I can't comprehend that TWICE was such a hated group at debut. They're such an iconic group and their discography is fantastic. I love even their old songs. I'm sad for what they went through then, but I'm happy that they eventually got the love they deserve.
I personally never had a problem with her weight in the first place. She was always very beautiful and I fell in love with her because of her personality and talent. I have noticed that she lost weight but it doesn't not make me love her any less. I'm just glad she GRADUALLY lost weight and didn't lose it in a short time span. It makes me feel better knowing she is at least losing it at a healthy pace.
I love Jihyo at any weight. She was my first bias and still remains one of my favorite members. She's beautiful.

i’m so glad jyp (in sixteen and hopefully still now) wasn’t looking at weight and looking at her talents when picking jihyo. He was annoyed when the other judges were saying they shouldn’t pick her because she’s too ‘fat’.
When he did comment about her weight, he said that she wasn’t taking of herself (and when extreme stress is put on you, you can gain weight easily) which affected her dancing (which to some extent is true for dancing). She wasn’t her usual self because she was so self conscious about her body (which is amazing). He did not necessarily say ‘she was looking fat today’ or ‘she was too fat’.

She looked really good in OOH - AHH era. Her body (and curves) were to die for. If anything, she stood out too much from the rest. I instantly noticed how curvy, womanly, and mature she looked in the mv. Twice's concept seems more youthful, with the member's appearance pushing toward late teens (for compassion AOA also does cute concept, but a more mature, sexier version). It also doesn't help that twice had members like Tzuyu and Momo (and most of the others) that just didn't look at all like someone in their 20's. Perhaps since the company was going for an innocent, cute concept and was targeting teens and tweens, they made Jihyo to fit the standard and blend in with everyone else. The only "issue" I could see with her old appearance by the industry's standards would be her face getting bloated (though, truthfully for asians chubby cheeks/ face fat just makes them look younger). Honestly, if anything, in kpop, curves like hers are something iconic & fame-worthy, cause most idols have that same skinny size/look. Just look at the likes of Hwasa and AOA's Seolhyun who are known for their bodies. JYP should have made her another body icon. She has the thighs and natural large boobs that other idols get plastic surgery for. Honestly, her natural curves are pure gold! She lucked out in that department naturally. They should have praised & celebrated her. Just look at people like Ailee - even she ended up loosing her famous curves.

I was actually an exchange student in Korea once and the girls at the school would call me fat and because I have an Indian skin tone they called my darkie. When I got back home, I was incredibly underweight cuz I wasn’t eating at all and I looked very pale and exhausted, so because I wasn’t eating, I put back on all the weight I lost plus more.

It's awesome that Jihyo finally found a happy state with her body. I am also like her, I tend to gain weight with stress, while others loose weight, it's quite frustating. I think it is important for everyone to find a balance with their bodies. Fat or skinny are not good or bad, what matters is your mental and physical health.
People were just jealous that she was so pretty and I love how she took her time to lose weight and not force herself or yell at herself and no matter how much hate she got she didn't give up same for the whole group but look at where they are now famous as ever before and the vocals do have vocal talent what was shocking about her performance was that her voice was amazing she was good and good enough if you don't like her or the group why do you even listen to them just leave them be
When I saw Jihyo in Like Ooh Ahh I was kind of obsessed with her.

This angers me everytime. Knetz bullying idols into turning them having body dismorphia or anorexia and then blaming idols for making themselves insecure with their bodies and faces and seeking plastic surgery. These people are CRAZY, clinically!!
Back when twice debuted, I sometimes heard students criticize jihyo for being a visual hole etc. but there were also a few people saying that someday she'd be the prettiest member, they were underestimating her visuals, people would kill for her eyes etc. I still often think about how true this turned out to be. those same students are the one saying she has a goddess body now with an absolute killer "exotic" face for example. their words, not mine. of course not everyone thought like this, but at this uni they did and I still think about it a lot. crazy how much visual opinions can change just by someone losing weight

How can anyone hate on beautiful God Jihyo?!?! Shes so kind, loving, caring♡ Shes one of the idols i really wish i was friends with, i feel that she would be a reallyyy good friend. Those kinda that would be there when you are down, or in trouble. Theyre always try their best to help you.
I want to be like Jihyo someday. I would love to be in a band because that's my life goal. Plus Jihyo is body goals for me and even if she gets called "chubby" i would rather have a "chubby" yet talented girl as my bias and not a slim girl with average skills.

It really annoys me that jihyo could’ve been a major victim to yo-yo diets or extreme diets. The mass popularity and attention twice got also gave them so much hate. I’m glad that she pushed through and showed her haters overtime keeping herself and her health first and her fans and media second.
this is bullshit. She was never fat. She was always a healthy and very attractive weight. She always had a nice evenly distributed weight until people started interfering. She is always absolutely stunning and always will be, whatever she chooses to do. But I hate the fact that people have to go through this as idols, even when they’re not the slightest bit close to overweight. And all weights are beautiful as long as that person is healthy: exercising and eating healthy and making sure to take care of their body.
i hope jihyo will be happy and love herself, i know that feel when everyone is judging your body, it's feel like even if your body is getting slim you still afraid that you're looking fat and become stress. that's hurt.

Honestly, I’m not too much of a Twice fan, but I love Jihyo and will watch her fancams all the time. In my opinion, she’s honestly one of the prettiest idols I’ve seen and she’s only gotten prettier. She’s one of the best dancers in the group, one of the best vocalists in Kpop and is so sweet! Love Jihyo ❤️

This misleads lots young girls outside kpop that they are obligated maintain certain weight on top of intense dance sessions and daily exercices ... They eat once a day consisting of few salads and plain small piece lean fish or chicken .... Then they have to wear butt and hip pads because those areas become even flatter and boney ... Thats why you see them go crazy over small morsels of treats or even peices of bread when filming for shows
It's crazy how different international fans are to some knetizens. We see her healthy and we are so happy about it and they call her fat when she's nothing close to it. She's a beautiful girl and isn't even close to being heavy.

Jihyo has been my bias from day one. I personally think she looked better and all idols look better with a little more weight on them.

I watched Jihyo since her Debut Era and I am proud of her how she managed losing weight Healthy and keeping still her Naturalbody Form one of the Idols that didn't overdo it and remained still confident.
This breaks my heart so much! Jihyo is one of THE most well rounded idols in the industry. She worked her ass off to get to where she is! The fact that some people value looks over talent is sad! Jihyo has always been beautiful at any size.
